Wow, I guess thanks to Southampton through gritted teeth.

Things are getting very interesting now. Blackburn and Portsmouth well and truly dragged into the scrap.

Shows just how vital yesterday was for us, despite where we sit in the table.

Oh, and by the way, if we do go down it's almost certainly going to be within the six-point buffer our moronic ownership inflicted on us through their mismanagement. And don't you dare let them forget it.

The six point deduction has put them in a false position. Now the slide has been halted and.the best player is back, mid table form will be enough to keep us up.My only concern is the out of contract  mob getting distracted.

Its basic ally 2 our of 5 of us, oxford  wba, bburn and Pompey

Oxford are in decent form.

The rest of us are all abit crappy.

WBA look crap on recent form don't they?

This is why QPR game is so important. We need to hit some form, something we haven't done all season so it's a bit of an ask.

Hopefully getting 2 monkeys off our back of cleansheet and a home win will give the players confidence.

Blackburn and Pompey have really tough run of games coming up. And you're right, Oxford are the only team showing any fight. I think they might survive.

WBA looked okay in the highlights against Southampton, who were poor and lucky to get that draw tbh

What worries me about the QPR game is that they are partial to going 2 up top and any time (as far as i remember) that we've faced that this season, we've lost.

Easily unless you assume everyone in the bottom half picks up less than a couple of wins each, which looks unlikely. Unless Pompey and Blackburn drop in and stay, looks like Oxford and West Brom will pick a few up.

So you're saying Sheffield Utd, Preston, Norwich, Stoke, Charlton and QPR could all potentially go down? They have to take close to 0 points over the next 9 or 10 games to do so.

Oxford unlikely to maintain 'Last 5 form' but looking good regardless. Quite close to call between us, Blackburn and Portsmouth.

I think we’ll get more points than our xTPts in all three scenarios above.

Its possible, not all of those teams will but Preston and QPR are in poor form, Even Bristol are on an awful run and look terrible. Its easy to get complacent for some of those teams. It depends if the bottom teams keep picking up points.

Yes I think obviously season long PPG captures all the crap, Last 10 form captures end of Marti's tenure, King debacle and Rowett's first few tough fixtures. And Last 5 also contains those draws in tough games. Potentially none are reflective of where we are 'currently'

A lot depends on this weekend. If we win we are on 41, 3 more wins would seem doable from the remaining fixtures, Preston and Sheff Wed we should get something, hopefully Blackburn too. Swansea at home if they are on the beach potentially, Pompey away is tough but maybe if they are in a slump. Id write off Hull and Millwall, depends which Watford show up. We are more than capable if we maintain performance levels of getting clear. Its not completely unbelievable we go unbeaten, Millwall is really the toughest one in there.

Nice bit of analysis that pal. Made me feel a whole lot better. Don't fancy Blackburn's run in art all

All nine of our remaining games are winnable, including Hull and Millwall. That's obviously not to say we will win all of them, but we shouldn't be writing any of them off. I think we'll end up with 55-56 points, which will be enough.

It really depends which Leicester turn up and how well drilled Rowett can get them. I suppose writing them off is the wrong phrase, more they are free hits if we can win the games that we should win. If we maintain levels we should get over 50, that said this group are capable of a stinker. The QPR game is the marker for me, win that and I think we are in a better place.

Everyone above Portsmouth are basically safe. They’re not going to take 0-3 points out of 27 are they.

I agree it requires some bad form but QPR are really struggling. Look at that 10 game run we had where we picked up about 4/5 points. It can happen and I think the threshold for survival will be north of 50 points (52/53 maybe). I think the other teams above QPR are safe and will get enough points.

The most likely scenario is that two of the five go down (West Brom, Oxford, us, Blackburn or Portsmouth).

Great work!

Purely on paper our next 5 games look the nicest out of those teams.

5 wins a row should do it lol

You may joke but…….

QPR - woefully out of form. Players missing and on the beach. I would be disappointed not to win.

Watford - also on the beach. If we go into that game with back to back wins and undefeated away under GR I wouldn’t bet against us.

Preston - poor, we should be beating these. Pretty much on the beach too.

Sheff Weds - can barely get a team out and are the whipping boys of the division.

Swansea - very winnable.

We could all be getting haircuts after the Easter weekend! ✂️

I disagree.

If we go down our owners will point to the deduction as some sort of injustice, institutional punishment for trying to be ambitious and break into the Big 6.

This will allow them to pretend that the disastrous recruitment on and off the pitch, the decision paralysis at crucial moments, the godawful millstone contracts and the shocking leadership didn't happen over the last 5 years.

So Blackburn and Portsmouth don’t have Sheffield Wednesday to play.

Is that effectively a 3 point head start from now…

Not necessarily as their performances have improved recently, Watford proved you can be lucky to get a point.

Going on the last 5 performances, you'd be hopeful that we could beat our season's PPG over the 9 fixtures.

4 wins puts us on 50 points.

So that could be wins against Wednesday, Blackburn, Portsmouth and one other - got to look at QPR.

Do that and get a couple of draws and we might squeak it.

Still that would mean a 50% uplift in points per game compared to now, even including Rowett's games in charge.
