This would suggest that Coventry came from a 4 nil deficit with 15minutes to play and down to 9 men….not go in at HT 1-2 down then play almost the entire 2nd half with a man advantage to secure a win.

 

I guess Coventry are this years Leeds for Sky.

We are 1 win from 3rd, 2 wins from 2nd & 4+a draw from top spot, there are 90 pts still to play for.

I know it’s all dependent on what teams above do but we are going into a period where these teams play each, it’s 1st v 2nd, 6th v 8th on Tuesday for instance they can’t all win so if we can get a win v STH it probably sees us jump into top 6 with 87pts still to play for 🤷‍♂️ 

 

Whilst Coventry are on a nice little streak that is seeing things go their way they will lose and draw games and probably sooner rather than later, it’s then how they manage that, it’s possible come January they are no longer top.

I take no credit away from Coventry they are deserving of their current position.

 

But as you bring up our 23/24 season our gap between 2nd and the chasing pack was far greater than Coventry’s currently is and we ended up falling over the line with a 1pt lead from 2nd placed Ipswich & just 3 wins from not getting automatic promotion altogether, there are still 90pts to play for and anything can happen still, it is far from a done deal.

Just hope something happens and it’s a good listen because nothing ever seems to happen. I always find it the biggest let down of a Derby.

There was the ‘bouncing day’ game a few years back, when Utd did Wednesday 4-2 at Hillsborough. I think that was when Utd had just been promoted from L1 and were the underdogs. And before Wednesday imploded. Possible Wednesday had come off a play off campaign. If I recall, that was followed by a few drab 0-0’s. 
 

So yeah, it would be good if it’s a lively and fun watch. ‘If’ we were to get a deduction, Utd could be battling us to avoid the bottom 3 so a Wednesday win would be preferred.

I just think that Coventrys style of football is a lot different to ours when we went up. Theyre all out attack and absolutely hammering to goals for stat. Unless they get a few big injuries I dont see the goals drying up for them and they can outscore most teams

 

 

The only game Ive seen them play where they werent the better team was against us, where we should have won.. but that's a one off. Other than that theyve been and are by miles the best team in the league. I dont see them being caught or nearly being caught, unless they get 3 or 4 major injuries

I don't think he's played advantage I just dont think he's gave the shirt pull, bad decision rather than losing control. See if it evens out. I'm all for games like this when another ref may have stopped it for every little foul.

Again I’m not knocking Coventry, I’m merely pointing out to those that have already written us off that they haven’t yet 1 the league and that we can still make the top 6, 2nd or even win it with 90pts to play for.

 

Our largest points difference between us and 2nd was during week 32 which was 11pts that was Southampton & we were 12pts ahead of 3rd place Leeds…..we ended up 1pt ahead of Ipswich so we can come back into this quite easily
