Surely this is at the end of the season ?

Yeah and even if it wasn’t he couldn’t sign for anyone as not a free agent during transfer window.

If he can stay fit he’s a great player, sadly he can’t seem to

Rafinha, the former PSG and Barcelona midfielder, is available on a free.

After playing for those two, I bet he'd love a season or two in the championship playing for us 🤣. He'll be off to Turkey or Saudi

Short-term contract, opportunity to play in the PL - requires some different thinking from the club but doesn't appear to be capable of it.

So it appears we are going to be shopping in the free agent market. I think the positions that could be invested in this summer are

- Back up keeper

- Centre back

- Left back

- Holding midfielder

- Attacking midfielder

- Striker

Anyone got their eye on a few players that are freebies in those positions?

Mvogo and Gunn as keepers.

Darling and/or Mbemba at CB.

We don't need a leftback currently.  Everyone of our current fullbacks can and has played at LB for us at some point.

We've got a lot of bodies at midfield too so need to ship out before we know what we'd need.

Striker, you've got MPH's favourite Agyemang with 6 months left on his current contract. Former Ric Flair favourite Luka Jovic will be/is free.

Always liked Muniz at Fulham. Has a year left. Isn't first choice. Still only 24. Probably still wouldn't be value though.

Reckon the loan market for a striker.  We'll probably talk to Chelsea about the likes of Fofana, Broja, Guiu and maybe, with a bit of luck George.

We ABSOLUTELY need a LB.

VK and Thomas have both demonstrated during the majority of their time here that they are just not good enough. One will need to go with a better option coming in. My vote would be VK to go and Thomas to stay.

All our RBs have shown that they can play LB at some point but more recently, JJ hasn't even shown that he can play RB never mind anything else and Ricardo can't stay fit enough to play football full-stop.

LB would be one of my most immediate needs.

Back up keeper - Yvon Mvogo - NOT GUNN

Centre back - Nicolò Bertola / Chris Mepham / Harry Darling

Left back - Greg Taylor / Gabriel Suazo

Holding midfielder - Dejan Ljubicic

Attacking midfielder - Kanya Fujimoto

Striker - Nelson Weiper / Patrick Agyemang

Funny how people see things differently.

Thomas looked a completely different player in trying circumstances when he came into the side. He should be one of, if next the, best left back in the league this coming season.

It’s one of the lowest priorities for me. That and wingers. Striker and central midfielders are much more pressing. Even a centre back if we can shift some.

Would have liked Darling but he appears to be joining Manning at Norwich.

We absolutely do not need an LB for the championship unless we have serious outgoings. If we're promoted, fine, I agree, but there's more pressing areas than LB for the coming season unless we can luck a shit ton of departures.

We also don't know what the manager, whoever they may be, will want to play.  Traditional fullbacks, wingbacks, inverting fullbacks.  Who knows? But right now we've got too many bodies in that position to be signing any more.

Not starting a thread for this as @Finnegan would probably take a contract out on me

Leicester City tipped to reignite interest in signing Premier League centre back
And City could reportedly attempt to lure an ideally proficient and underrated man to Filbert Way for nothing. That's right, Craig Dawson is now available on a free transfer after departing Molineux recently.

"It means, should City still have an interest in Dawson, that they would be able to snap him up for free. That may be helpful amid their issues around Profit and Sustainability Rules and the readjustments they need to make to their finances following relegation to the Championship"
Leicester Mercury
As I say, even at age 34, Dawson is capable of doing a job in the XI or from the substitute's bench. He's a goal threat, a combative tackler and is accomplished advancing with the ball.

Fujimoto is the dream, seems like Birmingham were sniffing around him but nothing has come of it so far

You would think King Power would want to get more involved in the market for Asian players

Surprising to me that we have only had Shinji and Yuki Abe

Still hoping that the Sultan of Brunei's son/nephew will make the grade.

Completely disagree. Think Luke Thomas had a strong end to the season and was one of the more promising players.

People seem to forget that JJ played a large number of games at LB as well - that is where he got his recognition from.

We then have Riccy P and Woyo at RB, with Hamza also able to play there.

Woyo has also played quite a bit at LB as well

Could even use Ricardo if we needed to as he has played as one as well

Pretty much agree with @moore_94 list.

Plenty of experienced keepers out of contract, but I’d give Mvogo the edge if he doesn’t renew.

Centre backs, Mepham or Darling would make a lot of sense. Rasmus Nicolaisen(Depending on his injury) is a pretty solid centre-back, one of the best defenders in Ligue 1 for aerial ability. Would take Jimmy Dunne from QPR too, was their best player last season.

Left-back, all depends if our manager opts for an inverted system or not.

Central Midfielders looks a very uninspiring list, few experienced names but wouldn’t want any of them. If we have any budget, then most of it should go on two central midfielders.

Strikers, this is the position where an experienced option might actually be a wise move. If we can get Daka out the door, hopefully we have some budget to sign a first choice striker, then get a more experienced option as back-up, but knowing us, welcome Andre Ayew.

Don’t care what anyone says - Ings would score goals in the championship- coufal is rock solid as well but got no chance in getting him - I’d take Dawson as well for a year if we can shift coady
