Larry_LCFC Posted 24 February Posted 24 February It's quite a problem in the Premier league when you don't have a Premier league level striker or defender to field isn't it. It goes far beyond embarrassing. 1
StanSP Posted 24 February Posted 24 February 4-1 loss. Early jammy OG for us. West Ham make minor changes tactically, 3-1 down at HT. Faes arms up in the air each time despite it being his player to mark... No productive subs until 70 mins. Even then, it's Ayew, Reid and Skipp on as Facundo looks on from the bench. Game already over as West Ham cope with any minimal threat to their final third, let alone penalty area. Ferguson goal in the 90th to wrap up a wonderful night out in east London. 2

Remember Newcastle away 2 years ago? We'd been shipping goals left right and centre. Left it too late in the season but went full low block and, if I remember correctly, Castagne missed a chance which might have nicked it. Firstly we just need to stop conceding. Unfortunately I'd trust the last bloke more than the current bloke to do this. 1
volpeazzurro Posted 24 February Posted 24 February If he plays the same team including Ayew and Reid with Buonanotte on the bench again, he needs stuffing with a ragman's trumpet! 2
Ric Flair Posted 25 February Posted 25 February I've tried to do a team and I can't, can't bring myself to choose any of the central defenders we own and can't even have blind confidence in the academy CBs like I can with the midfielders/attackers. Suppose I'd stick with Okoli despite his nightmare vs Brentford but the other three right now I just don't want to see the sight of any of them. 3 1 1

Pliskin Posted 25 February Author Posted 25 February I don’t think it matters to be honest. Ruud has pretty much condemned the team, coming out and saying that? However true it may be, it’s not productive in the slightest, and one or two players will probably take that on board, in a bad way. West Ham will smash us, 4-0 will probably become the norm…. We’re just going to fizzle out now, and it’s a case of are we going to finish bottom or not? Probably…. We won’t pick up another point all season, we’re well and truly done. Only way I can see us getting a win again is to sack Ruud. 1
AjcW Posted 25 February Posted 25 February Perhaps our only saving grace here is potter ball? It'll be 1 or 2-0 rather than a complete pasting.

They have been on the payroll at the club in some form for a while. All these useless trainers and specialists come and go when we have two people who know how to do the basics incredibly well.

Cooper was a mad appointment in my opinion. It was never going to work. Appointing someone purely on the basis that he scored a few goals for Man Utd was a whole world madder. Birmingham and Plymouth spring to mind.

Until the last game when at 2 or 3 down he lost confidence, at least previously Okoli at least had a bit of fire and grit about him. Coulibally on his limited showing has a bit more about him than JJ but then I'm struggling with the defence! If we need to try and win games, starting with Ayew and Reid just can't be the answer. Both El Khannouss, Buonanotte and Mavididi have to be playing for me. They are far more likely to give the opposition something to think and worry about! If we lose we lose but we're certainly not going to win by rinsing and repeating the dull and cautious approach and hoping for a lucky breakthrough or moment of good fortune. If you're achilles heal is in defence then don't try and throw a leaky sticking plaster over it if there's the possibility of playing to your strengths with better attacking players. A bit like England but worse 🤣. Edited 25 February by volpeazzurro 1

moore_94 Posted 25 February Posted 25 February Ruud Van Nistelrooy Pre-Match Press Conference vs West Ham Reflecting on #LEIBRE "We need to react. It was a big disappointment for everyone, the players, the Club and our supporters. We are better than we showed, and we can do better." On the mood in camp "It’s a new week and we’re onto a new challenge. Reacting after a bad result we’ve done before and the players react really well and have started the week really well." On #WHULEI "It’s going to be difficult. Everything needs to be right for us to get results and it’s hard to get results in the Premier League. We feel like we can do it. We can only keep working, keep believing and start again."
