Sounds familiar.

Some Chelsea supporters remain standoffish with Enzo Maresca, even after seeing their side creep back into top four. The sense remains that Stamford Bridge regulars will take some convincing on the merits of the careful, possession-heavy nature of Marescaball. It is not exactly setting pulses racing at the moment and it was telling that the mood was far from harmonious during this win against Leicester City.

Maresca seemed to be letting out a lot of frustration when he reacted to Marc Cucurella breaking the deadlock after an hour of stodginess by gesturing angrily for fans to make more noise. The grumbling about his team’s backwards and sideways passing had struck a nerve. Then again Maresca could hardly complain if there was dissatisfaction about Chelsea labouring against opponents who look certain to return to the Championship after losing 12 of their past 13 games.

Worse than that. Since Brighton (H) we've scored 4 in 13 games. 4 goals in a third of a season.

A Leicester City FC Goal is now officially rarer than Rocking Horse Shit

We were (are) so poor but they were so boring. Would hate to watch that every week given the amount they spend. Nothing there.

I must also add their players enjoy a good dive!

Nobody sings "she fell over" anymore. One of the great chants.

He’s way too defensive about his style. Ultimately it’s effective. It was effective here and it’s been effective at Chelsea. But it is absolutely boring as shit to watch. He can’t be annoyed that fans aren’t jumping off their seats in excitement!

Post defeat strategy at the mo appears to be “go and get a video of Riyad to stick on socials!”

cannot believe in 2025 I've finally learnt it's "she fell over" and not "cheat fell over".

Maybe you're right and I've been wrong all this time

Thought the shape after Ricky came on with him inverting alongside Winks like last season looked solid.

Whether that was more to do with Chelsea setting up to contain and see the game out I’m not sure, but it was promising for the short period of time we used it.

Not a fan of Cooper in the slightest and the love he gets from Forest fans completely ignores how shit he was for them in Premier League, but they've been historically a second division club for so long that they treat him like a god.

However - you look at the way Enzo had attached so much importance on players like Winks and Fatawu combined with the fact the likes of Winks think they're so much better than they are. What chance did Cooper honestly stand? He was abysmal and all stats point towards that but I struggle to think of a manager we could have got that would have turned the ship around.

He rated him so badly that he went and signed Winks-lite for £20m

Well lad, he took them up with a cup, simple as, they pissed the League so ofcourse they're sad. When Cooper came in it, for them if was like going from your Lamborghini to a Vauxhall Vectra 03. Still drivable, but barely.

Enzo was no Lamborghini. Flat track bullies that should have got way more points and eventually got easily found out. Limped over the line.

RVN will stick with the back three now and we'll see an improvement. We'll be harder to beat and will start picking up points - but not enough to overhaul Wolves. Then at the end of the season the defining narrative of our relegation will be a nagging sense that things might have been different if RVN had changed things earlier rather than stubbornly persisting with 4231 despite overwhelming evidence that it wasn't working.

Defensively better ... but not able to score ...  drawing games will do next to nothing for our position ... the problem is all over the pitch ... just not anywhere good enough squad ... poor tactics ... no leadership .. to many players hiding ... no passion ... no pride ... no fight .... the real problem list is quite long

Chelsea are fickle bunch... don't play the right way they didn't like you. Jose way was never pretty but they loved him... To be honest the best manager Chelsea ever had in recent times was Ancelotti... in his first they destroyed opposition. Second season, they were still good finished 2nd... but for some reason the Chelsea fans turned on him and wanted him out. Just seems like they want everything manager that comes needs to be like Jose. Seems less likely you will ever see a manager there get beyond two seasons. I do think think Poch stays at Chelsea, they would have been higher and maybe more of threat to Liverpool.
