Faes is a big problem IMO. I suspect him throwing his hands up in the air on the pitch and looking to blame everyone around him whenever we concede, is only the tip of the iceberg with him and his arrogance. I also think Vestergaard needs to go. Ideally, I would like us starting with 2 new CB's next season.

I am hoping Winks is not an issue, but a couple of red flags with him too. Perhaps, these three and Coady going, would be a good start for the new Manager.

Nelson and Okoli for me next season.

People can say what they want but the team below playing Danny Rohl’s style of football is Top 3 at least.

Jakub

Justin

Nelson

Okoli

Thomas

Skipp

Winks

Fatawu

Alves

Mavididi

Daka

What is the consensus on here.....do we have a plan in mind/spoken to a target etc.

Or

Chat next week, let's build a shortlist....dean smith incoming?

Growing whispers of it being Rohl with stars aligning in terms of his current contract situation being resolved at the same time as us sacking RVN.

Bookies still have Dyche as favourite, and couple have suggested he wants the job.

No other names have been mentioned to those extents, so I'd say a decent enough chance of it being one of those two.

Agree with you on the Okoli and potentially Nelson too, although I wouldn't mind a new starting CB coming in.

You wouldn't start Ricardo? If fit, he will still likely be the best RB in the league.

I also hope we hang on to Bilal, as I think he could be the stand out player in the League this season, if he stays.

I don't have any faith in Daka, even at this level. I'd prefer to bring a new starting striker in.

I also think Ndidi offers more than Skipp in the Championship. Skipp appears very limited, shockingly so.

The midfield looks good but Daka is absolute dog muck. If we go into this season with him as our main striker we won't be getting even playoffs.

If I’m honest, out of the players you mentioned, I think the only one who might be here still is Bilal and that’s still unlikely for me. I can’t see Ndidi or Ricardo being here after the transfer window closes, it would depend on who came in but I don’t think Coulibaly for example is better than Justin.

Our next manager, hopefully Rohl or Carrick needs a bona fide centre forward & that ain’t Daka. He’s had numerous chances to succeed & hasn’t taken them. He really needs to go in this window

Hopefully Carrick? Why?

I like him, apparently he is very thorough on the training pitch & works well with younger players. He knows what needs to be done to succeed & has the experience to succeed.

His only experience of success is as a player not manager.
Middlesborough has got worse every season under him.

As a player he does, as a manager he’s done duck all

Mainly my impressions of the man I must admit but, and in no particular order -

I feel that we need to appoint a manager with a reasonable expectation on our part that he would stay for 2 / 3 seasons minimum to provide the recruitment and style- of-play continuity we need. I think Rohl is looking for a early return to managing in Germany - particularly with his wife's reported reluctance to settle in this country.

And -

I suspect there are some difficult if not toxic characters currently in our dressing room. I haven't heard of anything in his background to suggest that he has the presence or experience needed to deal with and overcome their influence.

That's  my current thinking for what it's worth.

I think these are fair concerns.

Regarding tenure length, I just try not to be concerned with this. I’d rather have a manager who is likely to be wanted than one we will be stuck with. And managers tenures seem to be so short now anyway. The well run clubs just make sure they have a route they want and a contingency plan so that if their manager goes, they have someone ready who will carry on the work. A lot to ask for from our lot I know!

The second point as well, maybe. He’s obviously gained experience beyond his years in management at Wednesday in many ways that would set him up well here. I think even Dyche won’t have the experiences Rohl has gained. With possibly points deductions, embargo, incompetent Thai owner etc, Rohl has a lot of experience to offer. In terms of the concern you have raised, I just hope he would be backed by the club. At the end of the day, I don’t want us to bring in a manager to pander to the toxic lot. Hopefully some will be shifted out this summer and he would remove any others from consideration like RVN did with Winks and Vestergaard.

Middlesbrough sold their best striker at Christmas and they were doing well they replaced him with nacho who scored like one goal I think!  Carrick has done a solid job with what he’s had at Middlesbrough he won’t be the worse manager we have employed and he has more about him than Ruud! And will try and play. Better football than dyche! Not even against dyche the clubs in such a mess that anyone willing to take this job on with the board we have good luck too them!

I'd not be surprised if Carlos Carvalhal comes in to the reckoning.

He has a club every year, fails at it mainly in spectacular fashion and is dismissed. I’d be both surprised and shocked if we even contemplated having him in a short list unless the above is a joke?

This is LCFC.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lord Lucan comes into the reckoning.

Very good at Braga during his couple of latest spells there and has experience in England

Been pretty impressive at Braga both times, not sure why he's just left as they were very good last season.

We as fans are really against anybody who has the smallest blot on their CV aren't we? More likely to lean more towards some bloke nobody has ever heard off because we can't point out a failure of his. Just because their last job was below average in satisfaction levels, or "they took the club backwards" as somebody said in relation to Michael Carrick (bit harsh), doesn't mean their next job is guaranteed to be a failure. Lampard and Scott Parker are examples of that.

On a side note how is the kettle still at Bodo Glimt? I think even he is unrealistic for us now

How my expectations have fallen. I would take Dyche now, as at least he can organise a defence. Squad really needs trimming down but a striker is a priority, Daka is not up to it as others have said, hope Evans is. The existing squad is probably up to getting promoted if points deduction is not too big. Burnley got up on defending well. Looking forward to a few one nils.
