C-man Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 So, the forum is fast approaching 2000 members, which yet again proves the success of the forum. I was just wondering, how it got soo big? There must be plenty of different reasons for why people joined the forum. Personally, i joined because my good friend Tommy showed me it at school. I've never looked back. Cheers Tommo So what made all you guys and girls join the forum?
Tommy Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Because I was getting bored with TalkingBalls, and found this site which is a tonne better. Kudos to Mr C and Scowy for this site :clap2:
Libertine Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I was just searching around for Leicester info etc and found this site. Glad I did.
The People's Hero Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Probably the in-fighting on the OS boards which resulted in every other post being a cheap crack at someone else's expense. I had over 16,000 posts on that board and have made a lot of good friends on there. Still, that's why I came here.
Libertine Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Because I was getting bored with TalkingBalls, and found this site which is a tonne better.Kudos to Mr C and Scowy for this site :clap2: Ditto. FoxesTalk is better, but TalkingBalls is funnier by far.
Bert Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Because I was getting bored with TalkingBalls, and found this site which is a tonne better. Kudos to Mr C and Scowy for this site :clap2: Same here, Talking Balls has got really boring, I never go back on there anymore. Half the time the members just make personal jokes which really ruins a decent thread. Foxestalk is much better.
C-man Posted 21 December 2005 Author Posted 21 December 2005 I just think everything on this forum oozes class The layout is brilliant, its attractive. The members are generally good posters and good people. And most of the moderating is brilliant

Matt Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I was sick and tired of the OS, I attempted to use Talking Balls, before this site was up and running but I prefered the OS to Talking Balls to be honest (Whats that tell you abou Talking Balls )
MC Prussian Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I started out on the OS messageboard because the mix of people there was just class and I had such a good time (which I still have because I still am a part of it, probably an old habit I just can't get rid of). I am also posting here, and posting here more regularely than on the other LCFC messageboard, because it is much more simple to access, leaves you a lot of options, has a nice layout, undergoes periodical changes and is not always crowded with the same silly people who only appear after we've lost a game...

Ooh, I don't know about that.
filbertway Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Was at foxfanzine But some spamming led me to hear, never looked back. Great setup, great posters and this is one the only reasons i use the net Woooo, is that 2,500 posts?
TrickyTrev Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 This topic has been covered before, but I moved across form Talking Balls when this sitre was created. Nothing against Talking Balls but Webmaster at the time was trying to expand the forum so it was a non-Leicester forum which I thouhgt was stupid.
Thracian Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I needed some therapy because of my wife's illness. And with my sporting days reduced now to pleasure only I wanted to become a real fan again and get back into the idea of communicating. I have much to thank you for because I now have my own editorship of my own football site but, so long as you'll have me this forum will remain like home. Can't imagine that will ever change really. It's a super site with lots of good people providing the admin and lots of knowledgeable contributors who are forever telling you things you don't know, offering a different slant, reinforcing your own arguments or simply, sometimes, making you laugh. I value all that.
Ricey Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I was part of the mass movement from Talking Balls to here when it first opened.
Steven Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I was part of the mass movement from Talking Balls to here when it first opened. So was I, but all that happened was, I was a post whore on two boards. I think TalkingBalls is funnier, but Petrescu and Scowcroft have done a top notch job with this board.
SystonFox Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 i was a member of TalkingBalls and i was shown a thread on here, liked the look of it so i signed up. still use both though.
toonboy Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Came on to argue with Filbertway and just be a knob head really on the first day, but then stayed because i thought it was a good site and it kept me entertained.
Durnerz Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Some bloke held a gun to my head and forced me to sign up
Cobbo Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Scowy and as was Petrescu pressured me <_< Oh and I'm ever so glad they did!
The People's Hero Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 So no one joined due to my sparkling wit?
cisono Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 So no one joined due to my sparkling wit? Strangely enough, no. But some people might have left because of it
