FM - I was one of the 200. I was at the front next to the Leicester fans. We said we’d keep quiet but as you say we scored early and my mate went up, cooper thought I was Derby until I produced my Leicester beanie hat. Marched round behind the goal by a police woman and got a hero’s reception from the Leicester fans who I gave a raised fist to. Ridiculous really but it felt great. Kicked out after thinking I was going to be nicked. Got into a Derby pub with about 50/70 of us and celebrated our 2nd goal in there.  Got back into the ground to see us win 2-1 and give some abuse to the Derby. Remember more Leicester coming out of their pop side at the end too. The atmosphere was electric

Haha i was also in their pop side among the chaos, i'd completely forgotten about the match and the associated carnage so thanks both for dragging the memory back up!

If i remember correctly after it all went off we were marched in front of the stand and Derby were gobbing and chucking all sorts as we were escorted out. They were the days!

Yes they were a real snarling bunch - I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there!

I also remember the standing area being quite a bit lower so you had to climb the bloody wall

Even before the match I'd spotted quite a few of ours at the front and there were quite a few nervous nods

To be fair when it kicked off it was a pretty superb effort to fight the rabid Derby ***** off

Not been kicked out..........yet

But I feel it's getting closer and closer each week and with every game we play. :frusty:

You'll get there, mate. Just believe in yourself and keep plugging away - one day soon you too will experience the joyous schadenfreude of being escorted out while everybody else sits there and suffers...

At an England home game about 15 years ago. Persistent standing in a block that had been self designated by England fans members as a standing block to try and generate some atmosphere.

Nobody behind me for 10 rows or so, so refused to sit and they kicked me out.

On the other hand, I did jump the turnstiles to get into the Everton trophy lift game

Was way more than 32k in the ground that day…

Whilst most City fans hated Forest foremost, or Cov if you lived in SW Leicestershire, Derby away was the best atmosphere ... certainly in the 70's, 80's and 90's.

Until all-seater stadia came in, Derby was easily the best of the local grounds.  Covered terracing, tight ground hemmed in by terrace housing, a really good intense/aggressive feel to the place.

In contrast, both Forest and Cov had crappy open terrace ends.   You could take 5,000-10,000 and still barely make any noise.   And around the grounds, they had a far more open feel to it.   Not saying there would be any less trouble around the towns, mind, but just that the old Baseball Ground had a great atmosphere when we went there.

These grounds were/are the best. New grounds now are moving away from communities and into larger/open areas. I am to young to have experienced the Baseball Ground but I know from having been to the likes of Upton Park and Goodison Park how different it is going to those grounds than going to a place like the Emirates. Grounds surrounded by housing communities are my favourite. Seems to be more identity with those sort of grounds. I can only imagine in derby games how intense it was.

I can remember the bonfire in the Derby Pop Side when the old broadsheet programmes where set on fire. Flames up to the roof and we didn't even get evacuated! Tell that to the kids nowadays...

I think that may have been 1981 when we were 3 - 0 down.

A usual huge away following getting mightily pissed off with the shite on the pitch.

Yeah, Derby were one of the few clubs to have newspaper-type programmes in those days (as opposed to glossy magazine ones)

No but I considered it when Lloyd Dyer scored the winner at Northampton when I was in the home end.

Think most of the ground was foxes fans.

So has anybody ever been kicked out of a ground ?

Happened to me in the early 90s at the Baseball Ground . Me and and a few mates went to watch the citeeh against the sheep shaggers, for away fans it was an all ticket match . As you can probably guess we had no tickets so tried to get in the popular side of the ground with the home fans, only to be turned away as we couldn't prove we were Derby . So we walked around the ground , purchased a hat and scarf and the same boke on the turnstile let us in !.... So once in we made our way right down the front and i said if we score ffs dont cheer !... 5 mins in we get a freekick, walshy heads it across the box and Fitzpatrick puts it past shilton !

Yup of course we went mad and so did about another 200 or so leicester fans, it all kicked off big time , punches thrown, head butts given by the home supporters ( got a few digs back in to be fair ) before we were dragged out by the rozzers and matched down the side of the pitch, towards the Leicester fans behind the goal to a chorus of " we're proud of you " lol . Got kicked out the ground and was loads of us just milling about.

Some bloke who also got kicked , opened his trench coat to display a samurai sword i kid you not ! Not sure what happened to him but he was after blood with a few others.

Anybody else there that day ? We won 2-1 with walshy getting the winner

I was there, in the leicester end. Yes, Derby and the police had the great idea of making it all ticket for us but not for the home fans. Result: as you say, it kicked off big time. I remember your scrap in the pop side! The cops had to separate about 50 of our lads and 50 of theirs in the Ley Stand. At the final whistle around 50 leicester fans who´d kept their mouths shut walked to our end. Apparently there was major trouble in the city before the game.

Yes, there were a few riots back then.

I remember being beat at home Vs Norwich 83 4-1 and there was a riot after the game, disturbances vs Poet Vale in 91 and the famous MON riot in 96

I'm not condoning any of it but when you think had sedentary we are now it's another world .

Yes, you could feel and hear it in the air as you walked up to the ground back then and you'd have a mix of excitement and being terrified.

You do realise that by admitting to supporting City nearly 40 years ago and still going(?)You run the risk of being culled as you are too old and taking seats from younger fans!

There are plenty of posts over the years that imply or just actually say this.

Should have a plethora of examples then.

Has been said over and over again that the club are actively campaigning against getting younger fans in through ridiculous single game pricing and refusal to open up games to general sale

I know but I still act young and I always make a point of kicking over a wheelie bin in the concourse after I get into the ground

I am also still in the singing section after being Pen 2 / Pen 3 / Crazy Kop Corner and L1 ......... truth be told I'm a bit tasty and not to be messed with
