What do you mean a Happy Independence Day Bangladesh post followed by a Happy Birthday Richie Wellens one is the sign of a confused and messy social media strategy?!

The vast majority of posts on there aren’t for the local (or ‘legacy’ as they would call it) fan base. If an update on the Belgian Red Devils and Wout Faes wins a couple more Belgian fans then job done as far as the club is concerned.

It would be so easy to find a fan with the relevant professional experience to run a club Twitter account and do it with authenticity in a way that resonates massively with local fans. They don’t care about those fans though - they care about doing it however some agency has told them will help their ‘international brand’.

It's all about their caring façade to the local and international community. These charity days as good as they are I'm starting to doubt their sincerity. It costs them little or nothing as it's the fans that dip into their pockets but it looks good to outsiders.

I've always been somewhat cynical about their underlying motives

Which member of the men's first team coaching staff are you under the impression is making these posts, or what coaching role the social media team are performing?

Who knows eh? I just find it all a bit creepy arse simpering bumlick.

Round of applause for Ayew's international performance 👏

He'll be the first name on the team sheet against Man C after being a star against the mighty Madagascar currently 116th in FIFA rankings.

Can't even be arsed to make it relevant to Leicester. How hard is it to post a pic of Zagorakis and have a bit if fun with something like that?

It's like we'te using "Generic FC" from David Squires' cartoons to inform our marketing strategy.

The strangest thing for me is the lack of talk about the youth sides.

In a time when the first team are doing terribly, why not talk up the youth side of the club and get people interested/excited for the future? Since they're "homegrown", a number of the lads are from the local area too, meaning you tie the club back into the community and give us something to be inspired by (or at least get behind).

Tip of the iceberg though, I know.

And those cultural days are absolutely fine for broader events like Eid etc. But Greek Independence Day? That's purely to honeytrap new followers. Nothing about the club or brand even. Those posts could be posted by anyone, any club. Soulless.

Soulless is the right word.

Been like that gradually under KP but the success on the pitch gave us a sense of adding to our history. In reality everything the owners themselves have done has been to promote King Power and Thailand. All at the expense of any of Leicester's genuine history and culture.

And dodgy linking the club to a dodgy betting company.

The media department comes across as ran by woke "have to please everyone" interns. The right word is soulless and a way I have described the club before.

Id love to know how they're assessed on their performance in running the pages. Not exactly glowing feedback on any of the socials. Probably just blame it on performance on the pitch. Stick a "we go again" on there Gareth, they'll love that.

The only KPI will be sales.

When I was head of comms at Donny, we totally embraced being shit. It was the only option!

The highlights from a game 9 years ago went viral.

That is quality!!!
