Another season, almost definitely his last, in the Championship on what will inevitably be a massive pay cut, or go to Saudi for 2-3 years and potentially treble his current salary?

can’t say for sure, but imagine given the direction of the club and above factors, jumped.

I think it’s just natural; he would have made the decision ages ago he was leaving, and probably told Top a while back. So, whatever he says doesn’t matter.

His contract is expiring, based on this season the old Vardy has gone so an additional contract would be stupid. Time to move on thanks for the memories. Assuming the club said no to an additional contract good decision.

There's probably more to the story but we'll never hear it from either party .

It will probably end up in a biography update book either him or Becky does

You'd have more of an idea based on where he ends up.

Some reckon he's still expecting a big wage, so if he rocks up at Wednesday or even Wrexham, you'd imagine that's not it. Even though the latter might offer a decent wedge their profile outside the game might be appealing for the Vardy story and an eventual possible move to the USA.

If he goes Saudi, we couldn't financially compete and wouldn't want to. If he goes to the USA it's probably largely the same thing. He'd also get longer terms at both.

Wednesdays a sentimental move,  can't begrudge anyone that.

Wrexham would seem like a business/profile move, like a stepping stone to something else.

Saudi/USA moves are the money and career prolonging moves.

All make more sense really than staying with us as possibly backup to a new striker.

Other option of course is he gets to be depth/cover at a prem side. I still think there'd be interest, but probably no offers til late in the window when he'd presumably have tied things up elsewhere.

Imagine if Arteta finally took him to Arsenal cos they've never got a fxxking striker!

I think there's still a lot of appealing options for Vardy so I doubt there was any need to push him.

Unfortunately most of Beckys notes are sunk.

Spent an hour looking at the numbers ( accounts) going back to 20/21 and maybe will post them idc.

What is clear to me that there major issues going forward not just for years already reported but the24/25 year of course will be a problem but the 25/26 year is going to be a significant challenge .

Why am I posing this in a thread about Vardy and the question did he jump or was he pushed ?

Well the answer for me is quite simply down to the challenges that the EFL rules ( as amended ) will present. With Vardy being on a contract the projections that the club will have to file I think by 30/6 could , and probably mean that the EFL imposing  a business plan to ensure FFP compliance in 25/26..

The wage bill is going to have to be cut . And cut big. Vardy leaving  is an opportunity that the club could not miss

Has nothing to prove here  and not sure anyone can give a logical reason for him to stay unless on a greatly reduced contract. The money he has earned here should make him incredibly comfortable for life but an extra few million from Saudi/USA will be handy with all his wifes spending. The media can make a story out of this as that is their job but cannot see much in it.
