Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed the return of Facundo Buonanotte ahead of facing Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Leicester City are facing Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday (2:15pm kick-off)

Facundo Buonanotte (concussion) is now available for selection again

Other players sidelined through injury are not in contention, Ruud van Nistelrooy revealed

The Foxes make the short trip across the East Midlands on Sunday, heading to the City Ground for a  in the Premier League - our penultimate away fixture of the season.

And we are set to travel there with the Argentine midfielder, who is in contention to be involved after missing the win over Southampton last week, having been withdrawn at half-time at Molineux Stadium, following a knock.

“There’s one update on Facundo Buonanotte, who is back after his concussion against Wolves,” City’s Manager said on the Brighton & Hove Albion loanee. “He came through that process well and is available for Sunday.

“The other injuries that we spoke about ahead of the Southampton game are not available.”

As for 15-year-old Jeremy Monga, who is preparing to take his GCSEs later this month, the Dutchman revealed that the young winger remains part of the squad prior to the final run-in.

“He’s reporting every day and thankfully there is no school on Saturday or Sunday so he will be available to play for us on Sunday,” the 48-year-old added. “He’s a special talent.”

Nah, don't really fancy Facundo for this one. He's been one of the prime suspects for losing the ball in the final third, which against these with their high press would be suicide. We need to set up a low block and play ugly, or they'll spring us on the counter over and over again. Just like the last two, horrible horrible times at their place.

It's one of those rare ones where I'd rather play Ayew if we're going to persist with the usual suspects. He might be an ungraceful bastard but he's better at holding onto the ball and drawing fouls.

Van Nistelrooy on his future, Vardy's landmark and Monga's GCSEspublished at 12:45

Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has been speaking to the media before Sunday's Premier League game against Nottingham Forest (kick-off 14:15 BST).

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

  • On team news: "There is an update on Facundo Buonanotte who is back after his concussion against Wolves. He came through the process well and is available for Sunday."

  • Van Nistelrooy has also confirmed that the players that were out before the Southampton game remain sidelined.

  • He said Leicester "wanted to break the cycle" of the lack of home games with goals and were "motivated to do so" against Southampton. The Dutch manager was delighted with the minutes that the academy players had.

  • On his future: "I wish I could share more and obviously we will when there is news. Sharing the information with the fanbase regarding the club is very important that I think we should do. When it's there, we will do it."

  • On Jeremy Monga starting his GCSEs: "He is reporting everyday. And I am asking him the questions on maths and if he's studied it. Thank God Saturday and Sunday there is no school so he will be available. That's what a special talent brings to the table."

  • Van Nistelrooy reiterated that there is a bit of frustration with the absence of "clarity" as it is important "to move forward" as the clarity "will only help".

  • On Jamie Vardy chasing 200 goals: "13 years, all the goals he's scored and the trophies he's won and being so loyal to this football club in good and in bad. We all want to give him the best possible farewell and of course there is no better way to get him on the scoresheet than getting the ball in the areas where he can be dangerous and he will do his business. That is a big motivation not only in the players but the staff as well."

  • On Forest: "It's a derby and it's a special game for both fanbases. Obviously, Forest being in a position where they can reach the Champions League is a big thing for them. So, they will be totally ready and totally the favourites but we want to perform to our best and show that we want to compete."

There's a difference between arrogance and a culture of support which is created because of success. In 45-50 years time, we'll still be talking about the feat of winning the League and Cup in the space of five years. Major success raises standards for any supporter base and that carries through the years.

Notts fans are just obnoxious twats, largely most of Nottingham is.

I hate forest , unbelievable what they did in Europe in the late 70/80s but that was then and this is now , they ain't won anything in 40 plus years, biggest win they have is beating 🦊 in the league when we meet. I’m going Sunday and I pray we give it em on the pitch , off the pitch if they want it ( which I doubt, this was proven a few years back in there own city centre) loudmouth semi northerners in my opinion me duck 🦆

Had a lunch time get together and a Notts Forest fan was lauding it over an Arsenal fan and saying they were much the better team.

The Arsenal fan turned to me and said can you believe him and I said they are just a bunch of quick to congratulate themselves bunch of twats. He agreed.

This is the thing with them.  Literally one decent season in the last 30 years and they act like they belong and have always belonged in the company of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea etc.

They genuinely believe they are at that level and that's where they should always have been. Even when they were losing league one play off games to Yeovil, they were still acting all Billy Bigbollocks and making out how massive they were.

Such a weird fanbase.

To be fair I don’t blame them for going on about their European cup. If you win a major trophy like that or the premier league for us you should talk about it all the time. We don’t nearly milk what we did enough in my view. They are still a bunch of pricks though.

If any forest fan talks to me about European cups I just say sorry I don’t know I wasn’t alive then 🤣 easy retort.  But let em have their 15 mins of fame and conference league run.

I don't begrudge their excitement - they're having a decent season and one of the best in decades. And it's ridiculous to lament their historic success in the 70s - it was amazing, as was ours.

Nottingham isn't that different to Leicester, both the place and people.

The sad thing is, any club trying to break into the top 5 will struggle - clubs like Villa, Brighton and even more starkly, us, are an example.

This is probably their peak. And they're the second club of Marinakis - they're the junior/feeder club to his main one in Greece.

I've had pelters all week, some of it getting nasty too, everyone I know round here has given me some sort of abuse over the past week, they are a bunch of ar$eholes the lot of em, some of them have even been planning their "champions league" away visits already, literally creaming themselves over how good they are .  They seem to get its only been 1 season, they act like its been going on for years.... I know we will probably get battered but even if we get a point it will make my fooking year... a win and im gonna let them all have both barrels...t0ssers the lot of em

Forest fans somehow think they belong with the top bracket of teams when they aren't even in the Newcastle / Villa bracket.

Like us, they are in that bracket of twenty or so medium size clubs that have a purple patch once in a generation, granted their purple patch was successful for a club of their size.

Also find their whole dont care thing is ironic. People from Nottingham as a city, and Forest as a club, crave a national identity similar to the likes of Liverpool or Newcastle as clubs and cities when reality no-one outside the East Midlands gives a flying fvck about them

They are and they aren't, that's the thing. We are like twins in a way. One quiet one, one loud one..

They have this insane belief that their club is one of the big 6 and their city is one of the seven wonders if the world. On the basis the shopping, music scene and food scene is, like, a bit better than Leicester. It's better, but hardly a qualification to take on New York, Milan and Tokyo..

Whereas Leicester people are the polar opposite. Relentlessly, unforgivingly, unashamedly negative. We live in the worst city in the world..our club shouybe in the championship. Our lives are misery..

Funny how two cities so similar have a totally different outlook on life.

This is spot on analysis. Having been born and raised in Leicester and lived there 20 odd years, and now having lived in Nottingham for 20 odd more, it’s seems everyone from my home town is extremely down on the city. Whereas here in Notts people really love their city. Yet actually the standard of the cities themselves are actually quite similar.

I’d argue Villa and Newcastle have hardly struggled.

Common factor with them both though is that they’ve spent a lot of money to compete.

Just let them know that it was easier to win the Euro Cup than win the FA Cup (which they didn't manage even under old red nose) back then. They love having that reality explained to them.

We don’t nearly have enough pride in our club and city especially considering what we’ve won. They do.
