What charade?

Forcing fans who only watch the men’s or the women’s games for that matter to vote on something they know nothing about to give the women’s game an air of being at the same level as the men in terms spectator/ interested numbers.

Charade: an absurd pretence intended to create a pleasant or respectable appearance.

I think you're reading too much into it.

The awards ceremony happens at the same time, right? They probably just want to get all votes in at the same time.

I don't think it's that big a deal or that there's some underlying agenda behind it.

Forcing the women’s team on this form is just going to result in random selections.

That list of men’s goals for goal of the season… could it be much smaller!?

You know you're in trouble when you need to include a goal against Tranmere.

When the forum has two goalkeepers as the top 'star' performers this years with our near -2 a game goal difference it shows how bad the season and the non star players really has been. Best forgotten or used as a how not to do anything lesson for future players and managers.

Honestly, Vardy at least got 9 goals.

Yeah he’s past it but there’s still been no one better than him this season.

im voting him anyway more as a lifetime achievement thing. And because he should have 2 anyway because of that season he was utterly bizarrely robbed of the award by Maguire when Vardy was basically a one man team under Puel.

It’s not fair on the ladies. Most of us have no clue about their game.

There's no "forcing" going on, but kudos for you passionate stance against a simple inclusive measure. *Why* so offended?

Definitely is forcing. Very little know or care about the women's team and its not right that we have to vote for someone we have never heard of. Just selecting a random name of the women's list is not fair on the women

There's no logical reason why they can't have two separate polls opening / closing at the same time.

Can you give a reason why they've done it as a combined 'you must vote' in all categories?

I'd like to vote for Vardy I have no idea which women to vote for it makes their vote and hence their winners a mockery.

It doesn't make it a mockery just because you don't know who to vote for.

Maybe instead of ignoring/dismissing that the women are there or picking the negative in the process you could do about 10mins research on who might have done well this season for the women's team :dunno:

To call whoever wins it a mockery is ironic when we had people voting for Smithies in the men's vote before. Didn't see much criticism against that. Was all a laugh weren't it...

But that wouldn't be my view i'd be using someone else's opinion. Besides why should I spend time researching something I've not been following in detail all season.

Even if that was acceptable how many fans do you think will go to that trouble..

If the votes aren't genuine then it's a mockery. Just because some people choose to not take the men's vote seriously doesn't mean this is justifiable.

Anyway I've spent too much time on this  these are my last comments on it.
