This absolutely mad numbers. He's done little, and probably worth half at most

We signed him for £23m and he's scored 14 goals in 30 games in the PL. He definitely has limitations in his game but as long as he scores goals, that trumps all other aspects. £40m would be about right IMO but we know how desperate Newcastle are right now.

The player isn't trying to force a move so I can see what happened with Cunha happening again. He'll sign a new contract with a large release fee in it and he'll probably go next summer. Assuming he keeps scoring goals this season.

Fin Azaz to saints. 15 mill (12+3).

Greet signing, this is where it would have been worth sell BEK slightly cheaper and just getting him straight in. Frustrating one for me

I was laughed at but Alfie Devine would have been a realistic signing for us as a El Khannouss replacement. He's since gone on loan to Preston, which we have been on the receiving end of already.

Just noticed that Adem Zorgane went to USG for 4.3million euros. We should have been all over that, better than all our current midfielders.

Although arguably USG are a more attractive club than us now.

Personally, I think fin azaz is currently better than both dibbling and Fernandes and that is simply great business.

He’s also better than bilal so a real shame we didn’t wrap that up earlier in the window

I would have liked us to flog Bilal and tested out a double for Hackney and Azaz.  Hackney seemed unlikely after the Ipswich interest, but he's not getting the offers!

Champo fantasy football!

Finn Azaz is not better than Bilal.

There are loads of players who have done well at championship level similar to Finn Azaz and couldnt translate it to the PL in recent memory such as Jack Clarke, Philogene, Summerville etc. Look at what Ispwich fans think of Clarke and Philogene for example after getting 20 g+a at championship level, theyre looked upon as competition winners over there.

Bilal by having a half decent season at PL level is already significantly ahead of a 20 g+a championship player who is unproven at that level.

He did well in a poor side for sure, maybe the market is inflated currently as I still don't see £40m player. But obviously you guys need him so will put the price up. Similar to us with El Khannous, he isn't £30/£35m but he is to us

Surely Palace's interest in BEK over.

From that article;

"After Palace's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend, manager Oliver Glasner said he was "very confident" the club would make new signings before deadline day on Monday following a quiet transfer window."

New signings plural. Having done next to no business so far expect Palace to make a few moves before the end of the window. Particularly with other clubs still eyeing up their players.

Considering we spent £25mil on Skipp, £20mil on Soumare, £8mil on Winks, Norwich signing Mattsson for £2.7mil who is arguably better than those 3 really hammers it home how poorly we are run and how much we consistently overpay for players.

We have no recruitment and scouting strategy, i'd go as far as saying we are behind almost every club in this league. Imagine employing a manager with extensive experience of the three main Scandinavian leagues and then seeing bargain after bargain join our rivals.

Pathetic

what I dont get Pelle Matterson for under £3mil is a bargain,

teams looking at Jusef Erabi for under £5mil too, theres so much untapped talent in the scandi leagues, and we are missing out massively

And even if we have a heinously inactive recruitment department, we've a manager with serious experience from there. He brought through Erabi for example. So frustrating. I absolutely detest the way we are ran.

My question is whether our scouting department are actually unaware of these players, which is unlikely, or if the reason we dont go for them is because the higher ups veto any player that doesnt meet their requirements in terms of experience.

By all accounts we regularly have scouts attend matches in the Scandinavian leagues.
