The 21’s game being streamed at all?

Excited to see Evans get 0 minutes tomorrow night :scarf: At least Hutchinson is back in the 21’s albeit on the bench

Anyone else think Darren Motsi might be around the first team before the seasons out? Seagrave seems to be delivering for us at the moment so we need to capitalize

Hopefully there’s some league 2 clubs scouting and he gets a loan. Desperately needs one

Golding, Briggs & Richards feel like 3 that need loans

We need a CAM and Page is more of an 8. Could be sooner than expected

Probably not till right at the end of season if we’ve got nothing to play for. Might get the odd appearance of the bench

This stuff annoys me, because it’s not down to good academy work. They throw money around and sign all the best young prospects. And in doing so, make it pretty impossible for players to actually push for the first team.

they use it for profit and it’s detrimental in many ways because there’s only so much opportunity you can give.

I honestly think youth prospects should be more tied down to an academy to prevent unnecessary hoarding and bloating. The national game would benefit for more evenly spread talent.

I suppose it’s just the food chain but take Monga for example, lots of hype around him and has some promising cameos in the Prem as a 15 year old and the vultures are circling.

It’ll be the same with Motsi now, already seen a few things saying he’s off to Man City in the summer.

It’s crazy but the only way you have a chance of keeping these kids now is to play them at 15!

Problem is different academies have different training facilities available to them.

unfair that someone players would be more likely to make it based on their local team

Call me old fashioned but too much is made of ‘facilities’. If you’ve got some goals, a playable pitch and a coach a kid doesn’t need much more.

nice to haves, not need to haves imo.

100% correct

Grass is grass

Id rather have better coaches than better facilities any time

Yeah as my Mum used to say...

"It's simple you just kick the ball between the coat and satchel"

What more do you need to have?

Just had a look at the league table for Premier League 2. At the moment we are 6th of 29 teams & are actually the leading scorers in the League. Conversely only 4 of the 29 teams have conceded more than us.

So similar to the first team, we appear to have no problems scoring but can't defend

Been an issue with our Under 21s/23s for a long time but generally as a rule of thumb, there are tons of goals conceded within the league.

I think its more some academies have good catchment areas or good profiles for developing players or poach kids from others like Chelsea, Man City etc.

Also the likes of Chelsea and Man City get money for average academy product just because of their profile.

You watch U21 games like this and can see why players benefit from a loan. Huge difference between playing in that game vs in front of a large divided crowd with teammates who need to win to put food on the family table. I know every player is at different stages of their development, but it’s the difference between taking steps to becoming a footballer and being good at football.

Or they could reintroduce reserve team football where there is a mix of academy and squad members who are playing to keep fit or recovering from injury as an interim to going on loan. They would all benefit.

PL2 should be for 18+

A satchel!

You must have been a grammar school boy.
