Are you suggesting it was unfair to accuse someone of being "tin foil hat" for believing the state has manufactured the illegal boat crossing to enable digital ID to take away your civil liberties?

I'm not going into this discussion. I've shared already my arguments about the implementation. The official reasoning behind it is LAUGHABLE and an insult to COMMON SENSE.

Why you posting here then?

It's sad to see again the wording others use for people who have genuine concerns about this. "Tin foil", "Conspiracy theorists" etc. So if someone disagrees with your narrative and opinions is automatically a lunatic.

It's really sad you don't even want to listen and have a proper discussion about it without calling names.

Anyway, this plan for Digital ID won't go through. I stand a better chance winning the Euromillions than this one getting implemented in the future.

A digital ID will never go into my phone which I use strictly for what it is: Make and receive phone calls whenever I want.

I can see the lament here, but quite frankly that particular issue extends far beyond the one matter and good line of reasoning has allowed people with "genuine concerns" to elect or be in a position to elect policy positions like believing paracetamol causes autism, and approving mass oil and gas burning for energy generation in spite of the very well documented facts about the damage it is doing now and the much more massive damage it will do soon.

Discourse is fine, but when that bleeds over into obviously harmful policy positions in the name of all speech should be totally free, even free from consequences, then questions might start being asked.

But where's your actual evidence?

And if you have evidence that it's laughable etc. please tell us.

Who told you every single of us is on social media and especially the abomination called Facebook? When you create an account there you accept certain T&Cs. Afaik nobody came to me so far to force me to create a Facebook account or other social media accounts. Your argument is irrelevant by default.

You realise you've posted this on social media, right?

You realise I have already agreed the terms and conditions here, right? It's not compulsory for Leicester fans to have an account here, is it?

Last question: Is your bank forcing you to do mobile banking? Yes or no? I've said it yesterday. I don't have any problems with physical ID. I have major concerns about mandatory Digital ID. If you can't understand why I'm having these concerns it's not my problem.

Yes it's Starling and they don't have branches.

I wasn't being facetious in my previous post either. It's an evocative subject and not worth the spice. Take a break buddy.

It wasn't me calling names mate. I'm posting my opinion and I fully respect yours.

Starling was your choice again. You knew beforehand you were choosing a strictly online banking institution.

Been thinking about this. It's great to hear diverse views. But by posting controversial views into a public forum *where our only common factor is we all support the City* you're going to get more pushback than in a self-selected echo chamber like Twitter, Facebook etc. We hear a lot about the so-called "silent majority." Sometimes - not always - you may find the views of the *actual* majority are rather different to those shared in your social media stream or newspaper website. I guess it can be surprising.

I'll be honest, I've had to defend what I am sure are matters of absolutely elementary and vital scientific policy much more on FB and other social media than here.

What is worrying is that on matters like that, the combination of FPTP and the idea of the talking shop where no one is invalidated but no one is right means that a significant well organised minority can cast a very long, very important and possibly fatal shadow.

I'm going out on a limb here, I don't like to be so open and put myself out there, and the issue of digital ID cards is such an important issue that it's time I take a stand and speak my truth...

I'm not worried lol I'm just asking what the actual, genuine concerns are? Your opinions, not just someone else's that you've read on X

I think that it's lovely that you've softened your reply by ending it with a kiss.

Sweet.

Kinda irrelevant given the government already has all your data. This is simply about using our to create a digital ID.

You think they think nobody will notice a budget?

Might it just be that they are trying to govern?

It’s a figure of speech man.
