As the father of a young girl, one of my fears of a Reform government (if it happened) is how they glorify violence against women and think it’s ok. I didn’t realise until I saw it recently that Farage has talked positively on a number of occasions about Andrew Tate.

 

Women would become second class citizens under Reform and violence like this would be normalised.

It is strange how picking your politicians from a group who passionately believe in a fantasyland past where everything was white and great and men where men and women were in the kitchen leads to situations like this.

Praying the 3-year-old lad that's gone missing turns up safe. As a parent, I can't even begin to imagine the feeling. 

I do find it amazing that there has been no sort of sighting at all when someone goes missing in the middle of the afternoon.

Turns out people aren’t a fan of taking in asylum seekers when it’s time to have 1000+ unknown men dumped near your sleepy little village. 
 

Will no doubt have been plenty of residents happy for other places to take them but now it’s on their doorstep they’re not happy 😂

Charity takes steps to stop thefts from its shops

Many shops across the country have closed changing rooms in a bid to prevent thefts.

Even the Headway charity shop in Rugby, which raises money for people with head injuries, has done this as staff say some thieves have been putting on several layers of clothing to sneak garments out.

There was a 10% increase in recorded shoplifting in Warwickshire over the most recent 12-month period up to 2025/26.

In the same period, no suspect was identified in 60% of cases and charges were only brought in 20% of cases.

Warwickshire Police said it had carried out a targeted operation in the town in August.

“We continue to target those responsible for shop theft, act on information provided by businesses and work to prevent offending,” a spokesperson said.

From high streets to retail parks, shoplifting is impacting our cities and towns.

We have analysed Police UK data which includes locations by neighbourhoods to find out where it is taking place.

It is important to note that data from Greater Manchester Police and Gloucestershire Constabulary was not usable for this analysis.

However, we were able to build a picture of shoplifting hotspots across more than 300 council areas in 2025-26.

Outside of London, the highest shoplifting rates per 1,000 people were seen in Hartlepool, Eastbourne and Lincoln.

As I enter a shop on Grimsby's High Street, I feel watched. Partly by the keen eye of the shopkeeper - but also thanks to the presence of numerous CCTV cameras perched in each corner.

The owner tells me he sees shoplifting every day.

I'm on Victoria Street West, which is a hotspot for shop thefts. According to data gathered by the BBC, it is where nearly 10% of recorded incidents in North East Lincolnshire take place.

Figures also show there are 15.7 incidents of shoplifting per 1,000 people in the local authority area. The national rate is 8.1.

Further down the street, I meet Kathryn Dawe, a charity shop manager who says someone attempts to steal from her shop at least twice a week.

"I think it is the lowest of the low," she says. "We're a not-for-profit organisation, so everything that gets taken from our shop means that that's a potential sale that we've lost."

She keeps one eye on her shop as we talk, watching out for any trouble.

She says shoplifters will take "anything", from gift sets to clothes, and dealing with it has become a normal part of her job.

I'm old enough to remember when CANZUK was one of the biggest arguments of the leave side duting the lead up to the eu referendum. About how the UK should abandon the EU to form a seperate free trade and free movement block with Canada, Australia and New Zealand as they were supposedly closer to us culturally than Europe. 

 

And now Canada is currently negotiating to join the European single market as an associate member...

The 350ish residents have some valid reasons even without their personal views / fears founded or unfounded of having 1250 male immigrants on their doorstep (as they see it)

 

Apparently it's stated that it's cheaper than hotels yet the site has no water, gas or sewage facilities. Which makes it seem like a 'political' decision regarding emptying hotels as promised.

Funny how things turn out, isn't it? 

 

Tbh I have no idea why folks didn't think an CANZUK alliance with the European nations would be a good idea, to act as a bulwark in a world where neither the Americans, Russians or Chinese could be considered friendlies.

What happens when they're told they're unable to access the NHS, have their passports taken and they have to spend £10 on milk and bread from their village shop because of complicated export licenses. 

 

Small boats and immigrants have warped the minds of millions of supposedly decent people.  If they don't like what the UK offers them then they're free to leave.

Plenty of clips on social media surfacing from a few months back in Piddington proudly showing over a hundred “refugees welcome here” posters dotted around the village.

 

Fair to say they’ve vanished pretty sharpish.

Not entirely sure what their vote would achieve.
 

They’ll celebrate when they scrap the plans and dump them on some other community and then stop caring again. As always people love to scream how accepting they are, just not in their community.

Whenever the immigration debate rocks up on here it just tends to get rehashed again and again with the same talking points. 

 

And until the geopolitical root causes behind such migration are addressed or the world population drops by a degree that such migration becomes by essence no longer a matter of consideration, I expect it will continue to do so.
