I’ve had hair loss, I didn’t feel I could get away with a buzz cut, went Turkey for a transplant, probably need a second. It’s a big hang up for men, so thought there should be a place to discuss it, anyone want to ask me about my experience are welcome to do so.

Are you taking finasteride & minoxidil?

No, I tried finasteride, the side effects freaked me out so I stopped. Minoxidil is the stuff you put on scalp, made my scalp itchy and I didn’t feel it was doing anything.

Dreaded losing my hair throughout my early 20's, tried to cling on in my mid-late 20's, and the best thing I ever did was just shave it all off in my early 30's.

Haven't regretted it one bit.

I have a very long face, look a bit like RVN tbh, so I don’t look good with a buzz cut, which is why I went Turkey for the front but now bolding from the crown, so use hair fibres but may have second transplant as once you’ve had 1st that does create an issue

It’s a shame you suffered from the side effects as it does produce very high results for stopping hair loss and re-growth. That will be a topical form of minoxidil you can get it as a tablet which should get better results.

I had an FUE 6 months ago and so far it’s looking really well but I am on finastride & minoxidil. If you’re considering a second transplant I could recommend the place I used.

Sure any recommendations helpful, I used Smile clinic in Turkey  last time who were great, but language barrier was an issue, reason I chose them as the surgeon who attended appeared on a bbc documentary.

Crazy how hair falls out in places where you don’t want it to but grows in places you don’t want it to.

Mate, ain’t that the truth

Whilst shaving in the mornings, I'll often notice an hair, about 5mm long, growing out from the top of ear. I'm sure it wasn't there the night before.

How come that can grow, and in other unwanted places too, but I'm getting thinner and thinner on top?

Like the sudden appearance of those enormous, pube-like, hairs around the nipple.

Maybe that's just me...

I just embrace it now and trim it with the old trimmer otherwise I would look like a brown version of Millhouses dad!!

This I feel is the best answer. Don't fight it, embrace it. I've never seen a hair loss "remedy" that didn't look stupid (and therefore draw even more attention to it.)

However, I'm saying this as a bloke in his late 50s who has a full head of (very grey) hair lol. I have however embraced the grey, no intention of ever dying it.

Mine started to fall out early 20s, seeing the back of your head through your rapidly thinning hair in the work bogs was galling.but...

Shaved it, never looked back, but aware that if you have a pin head it may not be a great look, but thankfully I have a head the size of a medicine ball.

What makes it worse, is that typically those who experience hair loss have more hair growth than people who dont in other areas.

I'm fighting a losing battle and can't take anything for it as it messes up my meds.

The garden cctv did me dirty the other day and looked like I had gone full monk at the back! Camera adds 10 pounds and removes 2-3 inches of hair right?

In my late 60s now. Started losing it in early 20s. Obviously this was not what I wanted to think about. I was very lucky that my wife didn't mind one bit and always supportive. I realised that having a good hair cut and looking as good as you can and learning acceptance was the way to go. Good luck to any young out there struggling with confidence. You can still be a vibrant person. If you get any negative remarks just remind yourself they are a holes

Starting in my mid to late 20s i started to notice my hair thinning on top. It was downhill from there. Balding on top, sides and back are normal.  I haven't yet taken the razor blade to it but do shave it all down using the number 0 blade of my hair trimmer.

Add in loads of Greys (im only 45). Sigh.

I have become more intolerant to the sun on my head which sucks.

That said, I am still a very sexy beast and don't let it bother me.

Ditto on the hair everywhere else! Lol

How many cameras you got?

I'm 54 and I thought I'd got away with it.

I have mostly dark hair with a hint of salt and pepper, and until recently it was always fairly thick all over.

Last few months, it's started thinning at the front.

I'm too old to treat it, but I might have to set the clippers on it.

Looking forward to being another Phil Mitchell lol

If its going, its going, never hurt Yul Bryner or Patrick Stewart, be more afraid of losing my eye sight, anyway the cost of hair cuts these days means big savings
