Yeah I'm sorry, I can't understand people who got themselves hyped as **** for Rohl but think Cifuentes is a no mark.

I'd say they're very much taken from the same pond.

I'd argue Cifuentes shows better consistency with our chosen way or playing, whether the fans like that or not.

Both will be completely wasted if we persist with the same off-field operating model with Rudkin at the helm, anyway.

I think we’ll get away with it in the championship but there is no way we can re establish in the PL.  the size of the steps that need taking to do that are way beyond him. (Rudkin)

Is Rohl's stint at Sheff Wed much different to Cifuentes at QPR? Possibly a bit less streaky and had more shit to deal with but not massively.

There genuinely isn't much between them. Rohl just has better PR.

Don't mind either of them. Just don't want one of the old familiar names and want someone who will give the kids a proper chance.

The unknown is much more fun.

A trial run of Starmlin's new one in/one out policy would be nice       Cifuentes IN and Rudkin OUT.

I must admit that I'm impressed having read what he's done at QPR. My one reservation is the respect or lack of it that he might recieve due to his not having the best of careers himself. According to Wikipedia he hasn't played senior football at all.

He never played on the big stage or professionally and people will probably shoot me down on this one but I do think this will be a caveat for some of our players.

Well players like Ruud, Rooney and Lampard etc had glittering careers but that hasn't translated to being a good manager all that much. There have been plenty of great managers not all that as players so that aspect doesn't worry me.

If the guy is on low wages and been told there's no money and still wants to come here then I'm fully on board. Don't know much about him at all but will back him and hope that our exciting academy lads with a mix of class from Fatawu, Ricardo etc can make us have a good season.

Sadly the way this club has been ran, we are having to take calculated risks whilst tightening the purse strings.

I think this appointment is a risk worth taking but the club and more specifically Aiyawatt has left the club on a precipice. The club spent an eye watering £80m on signings last summer and January windows including Fatawu’s permanent move from Sporting, plus big earners including Skipp, Ayew, El Khannouss and BDCR as well as Okoli, Coulibaly and Golding. It’s a lot of money spent for little return. If we are able to shift some players before the start of the new season, which is a big if, we have got to have an almost perfect transfer window 🤞

Well the Facebook masses are in uproar so he gets the seal of approval from me

By the way, the amount of people who say ‘who’ really shows how clueless are wider fanbase is. He’s managed in the Championship for the past couple of years and we have faced him on a a couple of occasions. Talk about barely scratching the surface level football knowledge!

Typical football hipster you are with your basic knowledge of foriegn championship managers and footballing tactics.

I BET IF HE WAS CALLED SEAN WILDER YOU WOULDNT BACK HIM

If he can get us into the playoffs with a points deduction we would take that in all honesty.

We have been royally shafted by Aiyawatt and Rudkin and the sooner these charlatans leave the club the better.

to these people on here saying if he was english we wouldnt back him/want him etc

well if they was english and played the way the CLUB has been doing for the last number of years, we would

and none of the english managers linked play that way, its not a difficult thing to understand, chopping and changing styles does no bring long term stability or success

s

its not difficult but yeah that would actually require looking deeper into things

He wasn't so much "sacked" as they replaced him as manager for non-footballing reasons but were so scared that he would go to a competitor, continued to pay him for doing nothing.

The level of ignorance in our FB fanbase is shocking and worrying. He’s not an unknown we’ve plucked from Serie C but even if we had it would have demonstrated the club has done their research rather pluck for a big name or lazy merry go round choice. If the so called fans had got off their arses and did a bit of google research they’d learn that Cifuentes is very much aligned to the club’s preferred playing style. He did a good job with a limited squad at QPR. He’s an exciting and interesting appointment, it’s a 👍’s up here.

Judging from reports about Cifuentes’ wages and the fact that he’s been told he has to sell to buy, it seems like the club may finally be getting serious about being financially sustainable. That’s a welcome development, but it will only bring success if we back it up with excellent scouting in addition to maintaining a strong academy. It’s the scouting bit that I remain to be convinced about…

We will continue to fail long term if we are too manager centric on scouting.

We need a clear vision for the sort of side we want to build, in a sustainable manner,  with a strong pool of potential managers we are scouting for whenever Cifuentes leaves that will make best use of the squad we have and continue in a broadly similar style.

I don't think Rudkin is capable of leading that and our seemingly scatter gun approach to this appointment (although no idea if many of the names bandied about were ever seriously considered) doesn't suggest we have learnt many lessons.
