Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Underwhelming but I guess it shows where we are as a club, no choice but to give him a go and see. For those so positive on him, had we appointed Alex Neil, John Eustace or Gary Rowett who had all done similar jobs at similar size clubs to QPR last year, would you be so excited or is it because he isn't British and managed abroad that he gets extra kudos for that? 2 1

Oh come on….. Alex Neil? He managed to get a properly shot QPR team playing some okay football, has kept them up and has promoted youth. He’s a damn site better than the likes of Alex Neil. 1

Neil and Rowett have had as many failures as they’ve had successes in the football league. You’ve chucked Eustace in to give yourself a defence there. It’s a positive to see us hire a manager that is about as close to the last success we had in this league and definitely has a potentially significantly higher ceiling than any of those you mention. He’s been coaching/managing for over 20 years. He promotes youth, he likes passing possession football but with forward not sideward movements. And he’s worked on a shoestring and signed some cracking free signings for QPR. He also knows Scandinavian leagues where we can potentially unearth resealable gems. He ticks just about every box I (and I imagine many others) had this season. Couldnt give a flying **** where he was born to be perfectly honest. 11

Popular Post Phil Mitchell Posted 9 July 2025 Popular Post Posted 9 July 2025 What people don’t seem to be getting is QPR were royally ****ed after Ainsworth and were pretty much nailed on to go down. He came in and pretty much revived them from the first compression. His stats over the year and a bit there aren’t mesmerising but where he’s left them after where he found them, you can’t argue that he worked wonders there, gets nowhere near enough credit for me. jonah Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 At least we have a name to tick the manager box, will he be any good? Nobody knows, but at least we now have someone who can prepare a squad for the forthcoming season. Il be behind him an give him my full support untill he proves to me that he's not worthy of it. 1

What had Hurzeler done before going Brighton, Iraolo at Bournemouth and Frank at Brentford? Yes it’s a risk but he has a history of developing young players and that’s what we need now. 2
Nuneaton Foxster Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Martí Cifuentes typically employs a tactical system centered around dominating possession and playing out from the back, often utilizing a 3-2-5 build-up in attack. While he is flexible with formations, his preferred approach involves deep full-backs and asymmetric #8s, with a mid-block pressing structure in a 4-5-1 formation. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Building from the back: Cifuentes emphasizes controlling the game through possession, encouraging his teams to play out from the defense. Flexible formations: He is known to adapt his formations based on the players available and the specific game situation. Common formations include 4-3-3, 4-1-4-1, 4-4-2, and 4-2-3-1. Attacking shape: In possession, his teams often adopt a 3-2-5 structure, similar to approaches used by teams like Manchester City. Pressing: When not in possession, Cifuentes favors a 4-5-1 mid-block pressing strategy. Focus on positional play: He believes in positional play to create more time and space for players to make decisions, especially in the fast-paced modern game. 1

Huddersfield in the EFL Cup game then?
mod hero Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 He’s actually a perfect fit for us on paper, he has Enzos squad to play the same kind of system, brings through youth. let’s see if we can shift some of the ***** we’ve got who are no longer needed.

Mickyblueeyes Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Pleased to have a manager. Not overly impressed by what I’ve seen on paper re: his background but he also seems to be someone with an idea and knows how to slum it - we’ll need that. Not at all surprised we need to sell to buy. Despite how shit this lot were last year, at this moment we have a squad far too good for this level, no way we can go again with that strength and given the way it went last year, it’s in our interest to sell before buying. Hoping we keep one or two with the ex factor. Can we get an assistant whose nickname is Doc please.

copunk Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 If the sell to buy comment is actually true then its music to my ears 1. Hopefully shift some of the deadwood (easier said then done I know) And 2. Its probably the first bit of honesty regarding funds that we've had in a long time
