For the people saying it’s not on Marti! He’s possibly got one of the best squads in the championship

I'd love to know how? I see defenders who can't defend and make at least 2 howlers a game, a non combative midfield who can't play simple passes and strikers who are laughably bad. We have a couple of decent wingers and that's it. Insincere to suggest this is a manager issue

No he doesn’t.

I mean genuinely, what were we expecting? RVN was a weird appointment having had a short decentish spell at United, but this one was always another level shit. 28 wins from 83 with QPR hardly screams instant promotion does it? Another knee jerk appointment of somebody with very little meaningful experience in English football and with no pedigree whatsoever. Just sums up the idiots that run us.

Looks like we have another season of tippy tappy, go nowhere football to endure yet again. The times our keeper had numerous chances to get the ball forward differently or quicker when Wrexham had actually come out of their shell, but preferred to wait until they had all retreated into their own half again, was ridiculous. It's as if modern football Managers demand their teams only score by playing between the lines or not at all. Can't see the situation getting much better any time soon to be honest. It seems everyone in the Division has rumbled Marti already, and these types of Managers rarely change their "philosophies," just demand everyone "trust the process."

Yesterday was the most infuriating game from a managerial point of view.

For 60 minutes we played the old Enzo style with decent success, but at that point where Enzo stuck to it and late chances came with opponents tiring, yesterday Marti changed shape took off some of the better performing players for useless dross who put in no effort and we turned shambolic instantly

I started phasing out press conferences when Brendan started spouting absolute PR Brendan nonsense.

But imagine if we all did that for Marti, his talking has probably been his best asset and that’s a worry.

If you had read it properly I was talking about the scandalous failure to bring in a half-decent striker during the summer.

Top 6, undefeated in 6 matches, new manager, some new players, no need to panic just yet.

Give him some time ffs!

We're about as on par as could be yet people are trying to make out we're in crisis. This squad of players is average at best but some of our fans are still oblivious to that

This, but the two better performing players were tiring (one injury, one lack of game time).

So what were the options? No Ramsay. No decent No.6.

So unless he had Page on the bench (his choice) what else could he do?

I assume you AREN'T referring to Maresca here as, and not sure if you've forgotten, but we won the bastard league with him.

For what it's worth I couldn't care less if Marti was sacked or not. The person in the dugout isn't the issue for me and until we address the real problems at the club we're just gonna be going round in circles. Might as well just have some stability manager wise for now

Top and Rudkin probably think they have done a sterling job

So did most of FT.  I could not understand why the last window was roundly praised here when it failed to address the absolutely glaring problem of not having a striker fit for purpose.

Thats why I don’t bother listening to managers anymore after the nonsense that came out of Coopers mouth.  I don’t want to hear their waffle, lies and ego talking, especially when it doesn’t match what we are seeing on the pitch.

Hopefully he has finally given up on Skipp,

Ayew and Soumare. As soon as the first two came on the same problems returned.  Nothing in the middle and attacks stalling because of a greedy donkey.

I don’t think he will learn, but let’s see now that Ramsey will be back.

I disagree.  The squad might be 'average' but it is still one of the best in this league.  We have been dropping points left, right and centre and we should be disappointed with what we are seeing.  We are below where we should be.

I still think we are a work in progress with this manager however and I still think we will get promoted as this league is dreadful.

We're 5th, I genuinely don't believe we're below where we should be. Just gonna be one of those agree to disagree scenarios as I think we rate the squad very differently

As I've said though, it's not through an affinity to Marti particularly but I just think we're constantly putting the failings of the club on the manager instead of addressing the real issues

I do include Enzo. Some of the most tedious football I’ve ever seen. Can’t take his achievement away though, despite having by far and away the best squad in the League. A win is a win as far as I’m concerned.

You can bemoan the football by him to a certain extent then but end of the day it got results! The team we were playing never had the ball so never looked a threat. Marti's style I thought would be more a basketball game but we don't threaten the opposition goal at all, its dire!

On the other hand, the fact that we're somehow 5th despite playing shit all season so far plays into your argument that the players are above average for this league. What a shit league this is lol

Although the squad might be strong it is patchy and without a proven striker, number 10 or even someone who can deliver a set piece I don’t think we have anything like enough for promotion. Not the managers fault but difficult to know what he can do  in some areas hope Ramsey might make a bit of a difference and at least James looks a player

I appreciate that they may have struggled to last the full 90, but we needed to keep the same shape and tactics. I also think both players were still capable of playing another 10-15 minutes.

I understand Ricci might not be able to start every match, but he surely could have played a bit part allowing Hamza into Midfield - Try one of the wingers in a central role, drop a striker like Ayew into the number 10, bring Soumare on - pretty much anything but allow Skipp on the pitch. But even if we had to play someone out of position, maintaining the same tactic was still an option

As for Page, 3 weeks ago he injured his hamstring whilst with the England Under 17s - He played 60 minutes for the Under 21s last week and the decision was made that he should play another 60 minutes for the Unders 23s this week rather than rush a 17 year old back into a squad for a competitive championship match - a decision that doesn't seem to unreasonable to me, but I am hoping we will see him back on the bench this weekend

It's a bit of both but the manager does not escape criticism. His subs fvcked us up yesterday and let Wrexham back into the game. A better manager would be a getting a better tune out of some of these players.
