Lack of transfer activity

It is simply unbelievable that a relegated club facing PSR issues, needing to raise funds for transfer incomings, with 30 plus contracted senior players, has yet to sell a single player in this summer's transfer window. The club's inability to move on surplus players is an utter indictment of all those in charge.

We are an extremely poorly run club.  Your choices are either accept it and support them anyway, or fook it all off and just glance at the scores at 5pm on a Saturday out of morbid curiosity.

I know we're slow as fxxk on things this summer, and it might be that I'm not paying much attention to anyone else, but is there much movement going on everywhere else in the market compared to previous years?  Or is the PSR tightrope killing off the transfer windows for more clubs than just us?

And equally unbelievable the person who solely leads on this and failed time and time again to move players on (plus give them heinously high wages in the 1st place) remains in post, undeterred not under scrutiny from our club.

Listened to a pod on the athletic earlier on data. Bloke from the Liverpool scouting team said they reviewed targets every month of the year and had January’s targets established by 1st Sept and summers targets by 1st Feb.

 

Parish from Palace was on the rest is football recently and he said they work a year in advance based on current players ages, contract situation and injury record.

 

Everything with us is reactive and with no strategy.

the only saleable assets are BEK and Mads, I suspect both will go. there's no mad rush to sell either so why have our pants pulled down.

 

all the other dross, good luck with that, there all paid too much relative to what anyone else will offer

 

possibly we might shift Ndidi, possibly Faes or Soumare (if rudders can find his equivalent oppo) but I dont see much else of value in this squad.

The players we are trying to shift have been widely described on this forum as dogshit poor and many variations on that theme.  Why do you think any manager/club would want to buy them? I don't think that this is the club being difficult - we just have a squad of players that no one wants.  Get used to it.

To try and be positive.

Chelsea had a transfer ban (for 2 windows, I think) a few years ago, when Frank Lampard took over. Despite that, he greatly improved them, qualifying for the CL. Hopefully Cifuentes will be  great success (like Maresca).

We're pretty much skint and/or crippled by FFP.

 

Unless some big earners leave the club, we cannot afford new signings. At least not on a permanent.

I may have missed something and may get a lot of abuse for this but I am going to ask anyway. Can we not get sponsorship from KP? That would, if possible put a name on the shirt, money in the bank and less need to sell our better players and additional  money from shirt sales. We are not going to rebuild by selling all the gems and being left with utter dross. If we can get a striker in (not Bamford) we have half a chance with what we have. I suspect we can't offload the overpaid players but surely we could have got rid of Rudkin and got an able replacement.

I suspect that you'll find exactly the same complaints on just about every other clubs forums. We all have overpaid deadwood in the squad that can't be shifted. Players hold the power.

You can only sponsor yourself at a fair market value so they can’t artificially pump cash in
