Vardy, Ward, Iversen and the loans we should have about £200k a week off the wage bill from last season, potentially/probably more, dread to think how much we paid Edouard. I'm assuming no relegation clauses are in our current squad's contracts, as Rudkin would have been involved; however, it's a small step in the right direction. Just another 300k a week or so to go...

It looks worse than it is. Six were unused u-23’s, two were the 3rd & 4th choice keepers and 2 were on loan.

Sad to see Wilf go. He’s been an excellent servant to the club. Always gave his all for the badge and showed a lot of loyalty to LCFC over the years. Wish him all the best in Turkey.

 

With Coady gone and Hermansen half way out the door, there’s still plenty of work to do! Absolutely critical to continue to cut the squad and sell.

 

The upcoming season is all about bringing through academy players and getting them established in the first team. We must look to transfer Victor Kristiansen, Wout Faes, Janik Vestergaard, JJ, Soumare, Bobby deCordova-Reid now, Patson Daka, Jordan Ayew now. Personally, I’d keep Ricardo as I think he’s still got plenty to offer but his wages are a major problem.

Who’d have thought in a transfer window that signing nobody but being able to offload (so far) about 5 first team squad players would be classed as a cracking window. It shows precisely how bad our recruitment has been for the best part of a decade now.

 

I’d be well up for demoting Soumare, Faes, Winks and Vestegaard to the reserves, and replacing them with youth players, even if that means playing those youth players slightly out of position.
