Perhaps Nelson might get more of a chance as the season progresses and we are in a better position.

He's played twice under the new manager and looked a bit of a bomb scare both times.

I for one am more than happy for Faes & Vesty & Okoli to be infront of him at present.

If he's good enough, im sure his time will come.

Trouble is it's not just up to us. He's got to want to extend and why would he unless things change pretty dramatically?

People just assuming we can leaving him rotting not even on the bench and just click our fingers and get him to sign

I'm a Nelson fan long term, but he didn't take his chance this season.

He'll get another chance when injury or suspensions affect the team - or FA CUP 3rd round - otherwise he needs to go on loan in January

Because he failed to take his chances when he was given them - against poor sides. He looked extremely nervous for both games and I don't think throwing him into the team for an EFL game would be beneficial for him long term or the club

The three CBs we have. although they are shocking most of time - have all proved they are international defenders at one point in their career. I would like the manager penalise the worse starter each week and rotate them out - so they learn that starting positions are not guaranteed - i.e I would have dropped Faes for Okoli for this game

As frustrating as the CBs are, Nelson didn't show that he could do any better and scarily looked worse - Yes I saw him at Oxford last season and know he is better than that, but he didn't show it in a Leicester shirt when given the opportunity

Still happy?

He might have looked a bit bombscare, but faes is a bomb scare so they're square on that front. Wout loses out as he seems a bit of a tosser

There is no long term! His contract is nearly up and he will go for free!

He needs to be out the door on a permanent on January 1st for his own sake!

Hopefully based on the criteria he applied to Nelson, Faes never plays again for us, to go with Vestergaard and Okoli's performances at Preston.

We're on to Kevon Gray and Aluko now.

Why is Kristiansen making the bench ahead of Aluko? I thought Marti promoted youth

Nelson may fail. He may be okay. He may be incredible.

The reason it's so galling that he's being left out is that we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Wout Faes will be crap.

There is absolutely zero chance that in that set up for the goal that Nelson just falls on his arse like that lol Zero. Nilch.

Exactly! It’s not like we are getting great performances and results.

Performances are poor, results are average at best, you could argue poor given the opposition we have played. Faes and Vestergaard continue to make errors, not always punished. It feels like we are in an infinite loop!

It’s past the point I am even calling for Nelson to play. My venting is past tense. The issue is, he is held to a standard that the others aren’t. If he gets brought in out the cold, one mistake and he’ll be vilified again and people will be demanding he is dropped again. It’s an unfair pressure on a young lad, particularly given if he comes in at any point it will be as I say, out the cold with no match practice. Given these factors, him making a mistake through being rusty or nervous is even more likely and the cycle continues.

Which is why it is best for all parties that he moves on.

If Nelson deserves dropping after his first half in the cup, Faes has to go now and that means Nelson should be the next to get a chance (since a merry go round seems to be the logic)

So has Faes not failed to take his chance by spending half the match falling on his arse whenever the ball came near him? These three clowns will get chance after chance after chance, Nelson has one bad half and is banished for six months?

Has to be given a proper chance.

Faes doesn't even want to be here, aside from the fact he is a skittish calamity merchant FFS!
