The only reason I can see to explain for winks not playing in 1st eleven would be he wants to leave .

It can't be a ability reason because soumare and skipp are absolutely atrocious..

Interesting analogy re toxic.  Being honest here, I went last night.   Let's look at our fanbase re toxicity.  This board, being an example of it.  Our own fans are toxic at this moment in time.  FFS we boo our own players.  Constantly, get on the backs of some of them.

Here's an idea.  Why don't we support them.  Dragging them down, hurling abuse isn't helping them or the team in general.  We must have the worse fan base for not supporting our team.  Get behind them.

Constant abuse, negativity, and bullish attitudes towards our own players isn't helping at all.

Vast majority of our team that started last night were kids from our academy.  Shock results in cup competitions happens, especially when it goes to penalties.

In 90 minutes actually 96 there was 6 mins added time.  We drew the game 2 each.  We lost on pens.

I'll be there on Saturday too, Preston, supporting my team.

I was also there last night and I really don't think our away end was that bad, and I'm usually very critical of our support.

I don’t think those guys quit on us, but I think we’ve got some pretenders in the building that like to talk a big game and don’t show up on game day.

You score 2 goals, you should win. You go up twice you should win. I just think as a football club right now, we don’t have enough courage and we don’t handle adversity very well when things don’t go our way.

You can see we’re like deer in the headlights. Everyone’s waiting for someone else to make a play. Let’s have some accountability there, fellas. This is professional football. You get paid to do this. It’s a great sport, great living. It’s fun to do it, but it’s still a job. It’s performance-based, and judged by wins and losses.

(Ok, so one of my other sports teams is going through a bad patch, and the manager said this about them this week, bit damn, you'd have thought he was in Huddersfield last night)

Agree, we have to play winks not Skipp. Nelson had a poor first half but I'm not sure the team as a whole were great in that half. It improved in the 2nd as it did Sunday with the introduction of Winks. I didn't think Hamza had a great game, except for his exceptional goal, which put extra pressure on Nelson... Hamza didn't close down for their 2nd goal.

The second goal Hamza moved to shut the runner off. Whether he should have waited an extra second for the other defender to step across and cover - imo thats what he should have done.  I didn't play the game to that level - and so I will let someone with experience provide their opinion on whether the runner was the least danger.

Having calmed down a tad about how poor we were, it must be said that I thought Huddersfield looked well set up for their level. I know people will just say that was us making them look good, but I thought they were decent.

Anyone think it was odd that Winks never really celebrated his goal?? Offski??

Why celebrate a goal in a nothing, meaningless game that MC and the squad probably cares little about?

It felt like they were just fulfilling a commitment or obligation.

A bit like when you're invited to a wedding you'd rather avoid but you have to go because you accepted the initial invitation and when you get there you really don't want to dance.

Disagree with this, no competive match is meaningless, it's that attitude that's part of the problem with this team.

As for the wedding comment if I didn't want to go I wouldn't accept the invite.

Ok then. I tend to agree that a team should be competitive in a competition but where do you think the actual priorities lie. Sure a win may have improved the morale but our main focus is playoffs at the least.

I don't think for one minute that MC and the players are all that bothered by the result.

As fans of course we want to see a good performance but ultimately there are greater priorities for this club.

As for the wedding analogy, let's say it's a company function that you really can't be bothered with but you're contractually obliged to attend. You'd probably not really get involved and would sit, sullen and disinterested, just doing enough to let people know that you're there but wanting it to be over and then go home to better things thinking thank God that's over for another year

He can go for me

awful attitude and the lack of celebration is indicative of his disdain for the club and fans
