Pre-game I wasn’t overly concerned about the result - I was more interested in our players application.

There are very few players tonight who should be expecting to be selected to start on Saturday. Those not regularly starting should be performing to a level that gives the manager a problem. He’s already picked his team for Preston.

My concern now is there is too much to do in what remains of the window. We need to get things moving asap. Get the Okoli and BEK deals done and sign a starting centre mid, 10 and centre forward. Use the loan market to then improve as many other areas in the squad as we can.

That was concerning tonight.

The issue is there are no strong links to any new players. We’ve signed begovic ffs on a free. How there aren’t protests outside the training ground already I will never know

Monga tries to do too much

So? At least he tried. I’d rather he did 50 step overs and lost the ball than watch the likes of Soumare aimlessly stroll around like his shit don’t stink.

Disgusting behaviour and hugely unprofessional. You can hate the fans as much as you like but to simply ignore a directive from your leader is very disrespectful, particularly when said leader barely knows you. I hope Marti takes a hard line with him over this, completely unacceptable!

Yes I think attitude will mean a lot to Marti and Faes’ stinks.

Feel for Marti. He has a plan and he knows how he wants to play, a way that should be successful. But we clearly don't have the players to execute what he wants to do.

Fast passing, progressive football that gets you into good positions with overlaps and spare men. What we've just seen was players looking like they were playing with a hot potato that just bounced off our boys.

He's really got his work cut out and he desperately needs to bring in some players of his own to suit his system as a lot of our duffers just are not capable of doing it.

It's clear we need some new players to pep things up

sad thing is even if we sell 2/3 more players I still don't think we will buy anyone

He joined the club knowing the playing staff. It sounds harsh but how can you feel for him. He wanted, and took, this job. If he doesn’t currently have players for his system then either change it or train these players.

We all watched Sousa come to the club and try and change players that couldn’t play his way. It failed.

Crazy to throw shade Marti's way after 2 games. You're mental! He's been hung out to try. No signings of his own and not shifting on the same shite that let us down for years!

At least we can laugh at Spurs

We have no right to laugh at anyone at the moment. I’ve got supporters of the likes of Bolton laughing at me at work…..

Monga and Nelson the only two that looked decent really.

McAteer was absolutely shocking. Literally didn’t do a single thing well or even right. We looked better (again) when Winks came on but let’s be honest we should’ve been comfortably through.

Every penalty bar Thomas’ was absolutely woeful.

On the flip side, it’s a competition we weren’t gonna win and it’s stopped us making a pointless trip up to Sunderland but nonetheless it’s still annoying when we lose.

I’m sure most of you will be delighted we have lost because it will give you something to have a moan about.

Onto Saturday.

Nelson? He had a quiet second half but as poor a first half as you'll see. I wouldn't single him out for praise! My main doubt about the team selection at the weekend was his exclusion, yet based on tonight it was absolutely the right decision. I was really disappointed with him but he's only 21, and down the years we've known plenty of CBs who didn't come good until they were a lot older than that. I thought he looked good in the one game I saw of him at Oxford.

I really hope the fans will be patient with Cifuentes. While he wasn't my own first choice, I think that this job is a lot tougher than it looks. Expectations among fans, board, media are sky high, but this is a weaker squad than the one which just about won the FLC fifteen months ago. I think it's very mentally weak, and the lack of clarity about the final squad for the season - together with the looming points deduction and general air of pessimism about the place - is going to tell. Those things have far more to do with the board, players, past managers, than with Cifuentes. Right now, the players look every bit as lacklustre and half-arsed as they did under Ruud, and before that Cooper, and before that the final few months of Maresca.

And I was under the impression that, like the rest of us, you yourself don't mind having a moan from time to time! Or has that changed?!

But yes, Kasey was crap. I thought we'd see a bit of determination from him to make an impression, but he didn't come close.

It was a strange match in all honesty.

The first half was once again extremely boring to watch with the only positive being the amount of times Monga had their full back on toast.

In the second half we moved the ball better during the last 15-20 minutes. Winks looks a level above the other midfielders in the squad.

The fact we could lose Bilal, Winks and Fatawu absolutely terrifies me as tonight is a great example of how poor we will look without them.

Choudhury ran around like a headless chicken. He puts in a lot of effort but constantly got caught out of position.

McAteer is not a winger! He never  looks to beat his full back.

Thought McAteer/Daka/Skipp/Soumare looked genuinely Sunday league, and Alves looks way off the pace. Stolarczyk/Monga/Page were good, Nelson had a good second half and Faes put in a decent shift too

The players looked disinterested, especially the academy graduates. We know Soumare, Skipp, Daka are shit, but was shocked to see how bad the likes of Nelson, Alves and McAteer looked. This was their chance to push for more game time, but non of them seemed bothered.

Shout to all the fans who made the journey to Huddersfield. Feel for you all driving back after that depressing display.

On the game, I watched a dysfunctional display from a dysfunctional team, playing at a dysfunctional club.

Atm all Marti has to look forward to is the closing of the transfer window and pray he has the semblance of a squad that can compete in the Championship.

We know there's a lack of quality in certain positions but what's concerned me more in these first couple of games is the lack of intensity. We've been on the back foot in the first 5 minutes of both games and that's set the tone for the way they've played out. You could argue there was a lack of intensity under Maresca but at least we had control over the games. I'll give him time because he hasn't had a full pre season and there's obviously players who want out but I don't get the feeling that the players have bought into Cifuentes like they did Maresca

Can't even blame that on the manager when the players he has to work with can't pass the ball 10 yards. Even the successful passes are slightly underhit or behind their target. The only midfielder we have that can get the ball forwards is desperate to leave and we don't even look to be recruiting to replace anyone who does go (for minimal fees). You have to worry about the development of the young prospects when the games they do feature in, they're surrounded by bozos.

Never thought I'd feel so dejected and helpless about my club this time 5 years ago.

It’s not just two games either. Due to the boardrooms incompetence he’s working about a month behind every other manager in the division

The pessimist in me thinks we could be in for a period in the doldrums at best. The usual suspects that reach the end of their contracts can't come soon enough as doubt anyone would give money for them

I dont feel for him, if he thought this was going to be a walk in the park...he was wrong, either way he knew certain players were up for sale (the ones we can all see we desperatly need to keep)  or he thought the likes of skipp, soumare, vesty daka, were quality players or he could mske them that, where all others have failed.

Not great manager qualitys are they

What real motivation did he have to vome here...

Unless the board have really pulled his pants down with the lack of ins and potential outs, rither way i still prefer a manager that stands up to thst nonsense.

To many players no longer want to play for the club .... they are concentrating on the exit door .... or are plainly not as professional as they think they are ... they have no ambition or passion .... or are simply not good enough ... and some can't understand why the fans boo .. the level of expectation at this club has never been lower
