You couldn't ruin a club faster if you tried. Literally.

All down to Top as far as I'm concerned, lacking totally in leadership, communication and management skills.

Criticise Rudkin all you like - and I do - he reports to Top who is obviously happy with his performance no matter how ridiculous that sounds.

And what we're seeing now on the pitch is the inevitable result of this total lack of ability in the Boardroom,

All down to Top...

Just to play devils advocate, why would the players want to put much effort in when all us fans did in the first half was sing songs for ex players, and none for any on the pitch

Are you saying footballers should only be motivated when they hear their name coming from the stands?

Yeah he wasn't happy, his whole body language was terrible all night.

Yes, it was really obvious.
it was like an ex player who scores against his much loved former club.

He was definitely making a point.

After a few pats and happy hugs from others he managed a slight smile whilst looking at the ground.

At some stage all of them were academy players and I guess they had more from their academy who collectively matched us.

What was more worrying is the attitude. I’d have to say that their players and subs wanted it more than ours and that’s where I am more disappointed in our professionals.

Same can be said on Sunday where it took us ages to get on top of a depleted team.

Huddersfield don't have an academy they closed it, so none of their young players have been with the club before the age 16.

Interesting analogy re toxic.  Being honest here, I went last night.   Let's look at our fanbase re toxicity.  This board, being an example of it.  Our own fans are toxic at this moment in time.  FFS we boo our own players.  Constantly, get on the backs of some of them.

Here's an idea.  Why don't we support them.  Dragging them down, hurling abuse isn't helping them or the team in general.  We must have the worse fan base for not supporting our team.  Get behind them.

Constant abuse, negativity, and bullish attitudes towards our own players isn't helping at all.

Vast majority of our team that started last night were kids from our academy.  Shock results in cup competitions happens, especially when it goes to penalties.

In 90 minutes actually 96 there was 6 mins added time.  We drew the game 2 each.  We lost on pens.

I'll be there on Saturday too, Preston, supporting my team.

I agree, I made this point in the Sheff weds thread, yes we’ve got some players we don’t like, but my point is how does booing individual players help the younger players? Imagine how this could impact the likes of Nelson, Monga and Page? Imagine if eventually Monga stops taking people on through fear of being criticised? Or Nelson starts carrying on like that first half?

Booing whereas, it may be a cathartic release, I don’t think is remotely productive… and I’m not saying this because I’m a fan of Faes, I’m saying this because as a whole we become part of the cultural problem. There’s nothing wrong with taking the frustrations out on the board because this is their fault. Yes some players have contributed to their demise, but rather than boo them, don’t clap them…. Don’t celebrate the goal, but booing can have a wider impact on the players we actually like. We need to try and create a positive atmosphere when the whistle is blown, because ultimately, it is us who suffer, we’re paying out money, why sit there and make it even more toxic?

It hasn't really help though as it? These players have been backed after one relegation and then it fell apart last season. They actively celebrated turfing one manager out.

People are fed up of a cycle which involves them giving their support, time and finances and it not being met with the same effort. It has to snap somewhere.

This has been at countless clubs in a similar cycle. And it's happening here again.

Jeering our own players is nothing new. I remember home games around 1980 when a young lad playing on the right wing was booed by some Leicester fans whenever he made a mistake. What was his name?  Gary Lineker.

I can't state how angry I am at our 'senior leaders' within the club at the mess they've made of it all, whatever lens you look at it through - appalling recruitment, out of control wage expenditure, lack of communication and transparency, moving players on. It's a pretty incredible achievement to dismantle everything in such a short space of time, given our position after the FA Cup win - and they're all still here, arrogantly sat there drawing a wage from the club, with no accountability or ownership for the continued failures.....

Aware I'm parroting what many of us are saying, but the reality is we are going to get worse before we get better. Feel for Cifuentes in his situation because it's unlikely we are going to recruit unless it's panic last minute loans. He's got his hands tied behind his back.

Bang on.  I was considering preston on Saturday but I've thought to myself im not spending over a ton on tickets, travel, food, sitting on the m6 for hours for what is essentially watching a bunch of thoroughly unlikeable half hearted players (with one or two exceptions) who either dont want to be here or have no right to be starting for leicester city.  In the past i wouldn't have had to think twice about going.  But i simply dislike the players.

Im holding on for next summer when hopefully there will be an exodus of these scumbags on fat wage.

Just try.  I dont even mind if you aren't great footballers.  Just fcking make an effort or look interested

Nelson had a stinker but he can't be that bad.

Skipp looked league 1 standard. How did we pay £20m for him.

Hamza, a liability but theres enough with him to be in the squad as a utility player and be of use.

Huddersfield - was going to be difficult. They have match fitness over us and they are a good team. 6 of their 7 goals this season have been scored in the second half so fitness clearly something which they have an advantage with.

Lee Grant is worth keeping an eye on to see how his managerial career progresses.

All in all, not that surprised we are out.

P.s. if we lose Winks we are fckd.

No as I said, devils advocate, but it can’t help these young players who will be motivated if they know they have the backing of the fans

Other than loss of revenue and opportunities to blood younger players, which Marti did, I don't think we have too much to complain about. I thought we played well, as did Huddersfield, it's just glaringly obvious that we need a better striker than Ayew or Daka, although they would both be better playing along a recognised striker who could hold the ball up. At least the board will realise we need to bring someone in before the end of the window, stop dilly-dallying and get rid of the players who don't want to be here and spend the funds.

It really is quite pathetic

It's another reality check as to how far we've dropped. I don't think there's actually been enough focus on the fact they were a league below us, which is worrying that we're not actually surprised lol

Beg to differ. I don't think the board have a clue what they need to do in this window other than continue the fire sale and wake up on deadline day in a blind panic after sitting on their hands for 3 months. I'd be surprised if we even have targets lined up to bring in. Everything about our recruitment screams last minute.com barrel scraping incompetence....

Exactly that.

I sold my ticket.

Went Quorn v Stourbridge Tuesday night and was a breath of fresh air.

£5 a pint, £3 for coffee crisps and program for the step daughter.

Players playing with effort, desire and passion.

Nice crowd, decent atmosphere and great game.

So much so, going Saturday v Startford at home.

10 mins walk from front door, happy days.

Agree, we have to play winks not Skipp. Nelson had a poor first half but I'm not sure the team as a whole were great in that half. It improved in the 2nd as it did Sunday with the introduction of Winks. I didn't think Hamza had a great game, except for his exceptional goal, which put extra pressure on Nelson... Hamza didn't close down for their 2nd goal.
