Jacob reminds me of Nick Pope - quality shot stopper but not sure about whether he has the feet to play from the back.

 

Maybe MC wants a different type of keeper although I do agree we have bigger priorities but if we sign a new number 1 then surely we will have 3 or 4 others coming in !

Has been sidelined for 300 days in the past 2 1/2 years.

Would rather go for a younger keeper that we could develop with Jakub under the eye of Begovic. Like Karl Hein or Kacper Tobiasz.

it would be a criminal act to drop Stolarczyk after the start he’s had…

You have to ask what are we looking at another GK for? To be No1, or No2 or No3?

 

It would seem unfair on Stolarczyk who is 24 and waited for his chance and not disappointed even though his playing out from the back skills are limited. To replace him now would end his career at Leicester as he's done well and we have bigger fires to put out than prioritising funds for a new GK.

 

If we want a No2 or No3 then the profile for that player is just cheap and competent if called upon. A quick look through transfermarket.com free agents and this guy is the highest market value free agent, a bit of a journeyman if you look at his career path but would be okay for a Championship club No2 or No3.

If they decide he isn't good enough then he needs moving on. We did this with Ward and that got us relegated and into this mess

Or he's got some underlying injury issue whereby he's struggling and only just fit enough to sit on the bench.

 

In terms of priorities this would be well down the list for me. Let Jakub develop with game time, he won't be a finished article straight away but he's doing ok so far. We desperately need a striker first and foremost.

Begovic was brought in to be a player coach in all but title.

 

I highly doubt he is ever expected to see a minutes play time.
