This competition risks becoming an absolute joke.

It’s hard to see past Prem sides winning it every year. Especially as there’s no Europa drop downs.

The lack of drop outs have really exposed the depth difference in the PL and other leagues.

I'd be surprised if it ended up being 3/3 as PSG are far better than Arsenal IMO, but you can see a repeat next season. Will be backing Brighton to win this competition and wouldn't be surprised if one of the English three won the Europa as well.

In the last four years clubs have won a European trophy whilst finishing 14th, 15th and 17th respectively.

Anyone else watching this thinking this could and maybe should be us?

This is the opportunity cost that is forgotten about. This Palace side is no better than our side from 2020 time. If we'd kept that up somewhat we could've been well in contention for this sort of thing.

Emery and Glasner have both shown Rodgers to be the massive fraud that he is. Serial loser, who was bailed out by a dodgy VAR decision much to our detriment. Why we put so much faith in him I'll never know. He along with the incompetent buffoons who gave him the keys to the kingdom have destroyed us.

In the long run, Palace will make more from this run and the subsequent Europa league run than Forest will from their protest and run through Europa League.

Conference League will end up with some sort of redesign or something that stops English teams all but dominating it. 3 out of its 5 winners have beem English and every year the english have reached at least the semi finals then lost to the eventual winners.

If this is a major trophy then so is the Charity shield and League cup

People who say the league cup isnt a major trophy (hello Rob tanner) are idiots. Every club in the football league enters. How can it not be.

Im shocked we beat Chelsea in that final with him in charge. His teams usually crumble at the final hurdle, unless hes managing in a substandard league.

Well done Palace

Think it’s great for these sort of sides AND they get to play on Thursdays next year, Martin Samuel in the ST said they’d win in Aug.

Great greedy shout by Marinakis.  Enjoy your Thursdays off.

How did Parish let Glasner go, that might be it already.

Rodgers lost matches to Lincoln Red Imps, Zorya Luhansk and Kairat Almaty. Elite level.

And Legia Warsaw when they were bottom of the league. And Slavia Prague over two legs without scoring.

If that goal had stood we 100% lose that game. They were piling on the pressure and it was simply a matter of time.

Great night for Palace fans gone from winning nothing to back to back silverware. Be interesting to know where Palace go from here, you do get this feeling Glasner really carries this team and with him gone now can whoever is next in charge be able to lift the players the same way he did. Can't read too much into winning the conference league as we seen with West Ham. Two years after they won that, they got relegated.

The fact we could have been the first team to win it...

To play devil's advocate, we had some Champions League seasoned teams on the way to the final. Not to take anything away from West Ham and Palace but they've drawn some absolute nobodies

Was a much tougher competition when we were in it, same with the Europa.

Europa and Confernece both tougher when we played in them. Also, it now seems that fifth place gets Champions League every season, but only top four when we finished fifth twice. We were good at the wrong time

No, I’m not bitter, honest!
