As long as it doesn’t involve a fax machine we should hopefully be ok.

Its looking like the Argentine lad and that's it giving how quiet all the potential "links' have gone. At least we got a striker in.

If we don’t sign anyone else it’s because players haven’t left

links may have been based on sales and if they don’t happen then neither do the replacements.  We could have been 100% keen on the deals but if something falls apart in the chain upstream then c’est la vie

Of course BEK has gone but maybe we’ll decide we don’t need to replace him if we can’t find like for like type

I'd caveat the above however by saying I don't think Carranza and James is enough. I think 3 should be the absolute minimum and I'd probably want 4, even 5.

But I'd be astounded if it was more than 3.

It's pretty obviously three, if we get them done in time.

Ramsey, James, Carranza.

We do everything one at a time and it wouldn't be the first time we've tried to complete a deal on deadline day and haven't had time to complete it if we fall short.

I'd be extremely, extremely surprised if anyone other than those three come in.

Which is why it's nonsense that we leave it this late 'every' year. Constantly playing catchup and making rash decisions as a result.

We should've maxed out loans with options this summer in our position.

I think it's pretty obvious why we've done it this year.

We've left it as late as we can in the window because we're trying to sell as many people as possible.

Even at this short notice, we'd still probably sell Faes, Soumare, Daka and maybe a couple of others if a big enough bid came in.

This whole window has been about selling as many people as possible and then trying to do loan deals on deadline day when we knew what our final position was.

The club's transfer business has, indeed, been appalling on the whole for quite a few years now but, tbf, given the circumstances I don't think there's been much wrong with this window.

Yet!

There's still an hour and a half to **** it up
