Surely James will have better offers in the summer. Why would he want to stay here?

Because this is the club he always wanted to be at..... 🤣🫣🤣🫣😉

Every chance we buy him at the agreed fee in order to immediately resell him .

He's a 15m-20m player for a promoted team. He'll be at Cov I reckon.

You can’t do that in the same window.

What you are suggesting is called a Bridge Transfer.

If you sign a player you can’t then move them on for 4 months.

The only way that could work is to confirm the transfer whilst still on loan say in January and then he could be sold on in the summer

I think you can if it's a loan to permanent in which they are sold on again as I'm fairly sure that's what happened with Benik Afobe

Wolves bought him and then sent him on a loan with an obligation to buy, couldn't buy and sell in the same window

Not sure when the Afobe transfer you talk about happened ( he had so many) but the Rule change banning Bridge transfers was introduced in 2020

5bis Bridge transfer:

  1. No club or player shall be involved in a bridge transfer.
  • It shall be presumed, unless established to the contrary, that if two consecutive transfers, national or international, of the same player occur within a period of 16 weeks, the parties (clubs and player) involved in those two transfers have participated in a bridge transfer.
  • The FIFA Disciplinary Committee, in accordance with the FIFA Disciplinary Code, will impose sanctions on any party subject to the FIFA Statutes and regulations involved in a bridge transfer.”

Not massively relevant about the buy/sell rules, you could buy him and simply loan him to wherever his ultimate destination is with a buy option in the next open window.  The Cameron Archer sale to Saints after Villa made a buy back was deemed as a bridge transfer but nothing came of it as you can get away with it if you have "a good explanation".

Are players able to actually turn it down / reject the move when the loan involves an option to buy?

Can't say I have ever seen it

Yeah - personal terms have to be agreed still

There is only one scenario where JJ stays and that’s if we get into the playoffs and go up, which is completely impossible under Cifuentes.
Every single day we continue on this path, is another day closer to JJ getting a prem move and us missing out on a having a player that could literally captain us in the top flight for the foreseeable future.

Hope he leaves when he can for his own career.

LCFC will ruin him playing with these cvnts.

Good  luck to the lad👏

Of course. The option is just a pre set price agreement between the clubs.

I mean the option was probably taken out with the thought process of going back up, not sacking another manager and his staff and finishing mid table if lucky with a 2nd reduced parachute payment incoming

Then we make him a very rich man. We need to build the team round him

I rate JJ. I understand why you're saying this but *very hard no.* We have to stop paying OTT wages
