You know clubs will take notice of his performances this year. Could easily see him in the Premier League next season.

We all know Chelsea love to sniff out the Leicester talent..

We aren’t gonna get a sniff with him unfortunately, I presume the deal is similar to the one we had with Fatawu where we only get an option/obligation if we’re promoted. James will be playing PL next year one way or another.

Would love to see him wear the armband next time we’re without Ricardo.

Why do you assume this?  For all intents and purposes this loan deal was reported as a straight forward loan with option. Which essentially means the ball is entirely in our court.  We're under no obligation but have an agreed fee if we intend to sign him.

Because it’s how we’ve structured most of our loans - if there’s no obligation/option my point still stands and we won’t get a sniff. He will be playing premier league football next year in this form.

Fatawu was an obligation if promoted or an option if not which we obviously held the cards on if so. Only thing that stops it is if we are that pitiful we can't raise £4m or under an embargo.

Or James getting a better offer which is more likely than anything discussed.

Makes no difference if we have the option. We'd likely end up selling him anyway next summer but you'd hope for a £15m + profit.

I thought this but apparently rules changed and you can’t do it anymore.

And recent history tells us  profit money gets spent well, improving the team, any lesson learned?

@Aleksz No, but you can buy him and immediately loan him.  So you just loan him with a fee commensurate with whatever his sale price would be on a years worth of amortisation.

Plays like Gerrard. Don’t care if I get slated

Yeah, he certainly plays like Gerrard at the same age. He’s superb, and a great attitude

Hopefully there are no loop holes in the option to buy as I feel if we don't buy him there will be quite a few clubs very interested in him.
