No, I totally agree and have said in here that we looked sharp in the first half. Probably our best half of football this season performance wise.

 

The second half was awful though, a disjointed mess.

 

We deserved the draw but definitely not the win.

Come on mate that’s not true. He isn’t a number 9 but he can be  outstanding at this level. He was brilliant against Oxford. MOTM and a goal. That’s not an abhorrent player.

Let’s calm down, it’s early.. we aren’t going to be complete. Marti for me looks the right man

Yeh and a draw away at West Brom isn’t a bad result.

I'm wondering if Carranza arrived here not fit and they were reluctant to play him for that reason, and that's why Ayew has started.

 

He looked like he was blowing 10 mins into the second half.

 

Carranza didn't add too much this evening, but I don't think we should write off a player who arrived near the deadline and is still finding his feet.

It does worry me that Marti and Co do not see what we see, taking James off and leaving Ayew on until the 70th minute is a severe lack of judgement. We know Ayew isn’t a striker, completely agree with the post regarding it coming across as a manager putting his son on every set piece and leaving him on regardless of how crap he is. 
 

It’s getting a bit weird. We got away with it, the performance was a shambles.

Im harsh, but not seen much from him. Not like I have with Fatawu… he seems random and rather than create he bottles good chances. Doesn’t feel like a player I would continue with.. can’t finish, and easily ushered out of the ball. Fatawu creates, hassles does stuff

Oxford is the only situation where’s he is any good. So that largely makes his useless. 
 

He doesn’t complement our team or way of playing.

Soumare and Mavididi did well tonight, deserve the start.

 

We won't score much shooting from outside the box. 

Mavididi was crap, surely?

 

But yes, Soumare was fine. And, right again, the subs were weird.

I said when he signed, I said after the first line up, and I'll say it again now. 

 

Starting Soumare is a big fat black cloud. 

 

At the start the argument was 'who have we got here that's better' but taking off James today is a major problem for me. 

 

He needs to get a hold of the fact that Soumare doesn't add anything to the team. He works against it.

Thought Mavididi was one of our better players.

 

Carranza looks a bit lost which causes a conundrum for Tuesday...maybe start Daka to stretch the play?

 

Ok play but need to find a way to make opposition goalkeepers work.

Thought Soumare was OK tonight, a lack of composure and concentration let's us down far too often, over hit passes, woeful dead ball kicks lack of shots on target, shooting technique from all the players tonight was awful, with most of our shots way over the bar.
