RedSoxUK Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Just got off the bell with my contact at Seagrave. Anthony had pulled up two massive high chairs for Top to sack Marti, allegedly, then when Anthony and Top left for an interview somewhere, Rudkin arrived with Oscar Garcia. Don't shoot the messenger. 1

RonnieTodger Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Danny Rohl was so obvious in the summer, that it was bound not to happen.

We have no budget, a crap board, a looming points deduction & a stadium full of (rightly) furious fans... ...But he has been on the record to the British press about being a lifelong Anglophile, & wanting to coach in England. No you're right actually. Pretty sure he will get a chance with a PL side soon. We are too much of a basket case for such a candidate atm.
AKCJ Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Lee Carsley IMO. But he has to be backed up with a serious DoF because he's more of a coach. 1 1
ClaphamFox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January To focus back on the title of this thread, all the ‘realistic’ names are going to be utterly depressing. We may as well get used to it.

The rope is coming out if we sign that muppet.

Leicesterpool Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Candidates to expect: Russell Martin Gary Rowett Will Still Bruno Lage David Wagner Gus Poyet the random outside like Claudio was.
Aleksz Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Would love Carsley but we’ve got no chance. He’s the next England gaffer if Tuchel isn’t in the post come August. 1
Samilktray Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Just been looking at any out of work NFL managers, not sure why 1
adamkhalifa Posted 25 January Posted 25 January I wish the club acted sooner. I wanted Martin O'Neill for that running through a brick wall mentality. I want the club to shift its focus on getting the best out of the resources. Not try and force possession football, just because it's trendy. I will happily accept anyone, that has no association with Spanish football. If you have eaten Paella, then you're not coming in. I'm so fed up with the current cycle of managers. Let's go elite manager. Emma Hayes, Sarina Wiegman

Clever Fox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January This is a perfect time for the Club to ask Pearson for his help. Vachi was magnanimous to ask him Back, Why can't Top . Even to just thelp to reorganize the Club back to a professional level. 1

Other than our current squad, everything is levels above what Stoke has to offer IMO. Stoke are historically a similar level to us. He has plenty to achieve there, getting them back to the PL. But let’s say he’d be interested. What makes you think we are paying compensation for a manager such as Robins?

At least Garcia played for Barcelona as opposed to just watching them. You could see it purely because he’s been at OH Leuven fairly recently, but I gather he’s not long been in a job in Mexico.

CarolinaFox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Any managerial selection now needs to pragmatic. We are mid table, facing a 6-9 point deduction that could put us close to a relegation fight, we have no technical director in place. We don't need a manager leading with philosophy and explaining what they want to do with Leicester long term. We need reliability, stability and credibility. Results over style. For that reason I don't think we will go with Martin. Leadership may be out of touch with the fans, but everyone saw what happened at Rangers. The fans weren't having Martin from day one. I also don't think the club will go after a long-term vision manager. We need a low maintenance manager who can work within our constraints, work with the squad he has and maximize their output and re-establish the club's credibility. For me its Tony Mowbray. He gets the league, understand the pressure. He's a no nonsense appointment. Give him a 1-2 year contract. Let him restore order and belief, get us back to winning and then we can go after a more "appealing" aspirational hire with a long term vision once we have a technical director in place, and have sorted PSR issues.
