Corky Posted 26 January Posted 26 January Gary Rowett was told by Millwall and Oxford fans that his football was crap yet he's the best we can do? Wow.

Very good record in the championship and seems to take no prisoners. Would be a decent appointment. Why an earth would he leave millwall for us? There looking like a playoff side this season , potentially promotion, we are completely the other end

JonnyBoy Posted 26 January Posted 26 January Tops interview has already clarified to me what a mess we are in even more than i originally thought, Anyone with an ounce of competence wouldn't do an interview hours before with so much blurred lines around his thinking - uttering words of "needs time" he has done a good job to then sack him is extremely worrying tbh. Strap in for the next few months

You wouldd have to ask the same question again, why would he want to come here? Previously when we were in the Championship you could have said because we had higher potential and a better budget. That is no longer true. We are a less appealing club than Millwall!! 100 per cent correct my friend. I actually fancy Millwall to come up through the play offs this year
Happy Fox Posted 26 January Posted 26 January Steve McClaren, we need some experienced at this level, we do love appointing a former England manager

We have the perfect wingers for counter attacking football as well. It is beggars belief Edited 26 January by JonnyBoy 2
LVFox Posted 26 January Posted 26 January I could get on board with Carsley, although maybe we pin a “plays young players” tag on him without reason just due to the nature of his current role. I think Will Still is a lowkey dark horse and decent idea, despite what most will view about his time at Southampton 1

winteriscoming Posted 26 January Author Posted 26 January Did Glover work with Hassenhutl at Southampton?

Yeah, think we made that mistake with Cooper Although, he did draft a few U21's into his first couple of England squads during the interim role.

LestaLad Posted 26 January Posted 26 January Would Solskjaer come here? Wouldn’t be against that if it was possible.
Wink84 Posted 26 January Posted 26 January 16 hours ago, CarolinaFox said: Any managerial selection now needs to pragmatic. We are mid table, facing a 6-9 point deduction that could put us close to a relegation fight, we have no technical director in place. We don't need a manager leading with philosophy and explaining what they want to do with Leicester long term. We need reliability, stability and credibility. Results over style. For that reason I don't think we will go with Martin. Leadership may be out of touch with the fans, but everyone saw what happened at Rangers. The fans weren't having Martin from day one. I also don't think the club will go after a long-term vision manager. We need a low maintenance manager who can work within our constraints, work with the squad he has and maximize their output and re-establish the club's credibility. For me its Tony Mowbray. He gets the league, understand the pressure. He's a no nonsense appointment. Give him a 1-2 year contract. Let him restore order and belief, get us back to winning and then we can go after a more "appealing" aspirational hire with a long term vision once we have a technical director in place, and have sorted PSR issues. I could get behind Mowbray on an 18 month contract. 1

Parker Pen Posted 26 January Posted 26 January What about Enzo’s assistant managers Leicester and Chelsea Danny Walker? He is a well regarded coach and that’s what got him the job with us when he left Peterborough.

stevostadium Posted 26 January Posted 26 January We really need to manage our expectations here. Firstly, we are in an absolute financial mess. We are also ran as a shambles by the powers that be Rudkin is doing the hiring, any manager worth his salt would not come here. Managers have turned him down previously directly because of Rudkin. We have no money so will be someone out of work or at league 1 or 2 club where compo is less. But what is the most baffling, the new manage should be selected by the new technical director not rudkin. The priority now IMO is to het the technical director in first. It is pointing to Russell Martin as his TD. I f thats the case we are relegated this season! How i would love a Roy Keane or Neil Warnock right now. These show ponies would all be calling in sick or getting on to their agents for a move!
