Ignoring everything else around this, what he has to say, our thoughts and feelings towards him. You've got to feel he's let down or poorly advised by the club's Comms/media department. The first time he speaks, talking about wanting to be closer and the first thing that many will pick up on is that he's sat on a chair miles away from the interviewer in his building in Bangkok. Regardless if what he's saying is important the image goes straight against the messaging from the off. I work within a sporting organisation and our comms team won't even let internal media pieces be done if they aren't 100% happy with the setting and how it supports the piece they are doing, let alone something going so public to an extremely unhappy fan base.
