He'd have had less playing time here I think than playing regularly at Chesterfield. It's League Two but it's competitive and they're going for promotion. The gap between L1 and L2 isn't actually that big.

Links up with Vontae Daley Campbell who he might know from the youth setup?

Good to know he’s gone straight into the starting lineup. L2 sides should be aware exactly how good he is. Challenging for the playoffs as well is a new challenge

That’s a dogshit decision, it was either get him into league one, use him or leave him at Newport and they’ve managed to do none of the abovelol pointless.

So the tweet from Chesterfield naming him in their starting line-up today came 5 minutes before we tweeted our announcement that he's joined them on loan.

Communication lacking as always.

Chesterfield tweeted their starting lineup before announcing him, it was obviously planned that way

As long as he is playing 90 minutes still I prefer him to be at Chesterfield than Newport

Why leave him losing every week at Newport when he can at least win some games

Much more positive experience fighting for promotion

If he still is a standout player for one of the better teams in the league then that will tell us more than him being a standout player for Newport.

Not sure there's a massive gulf between L1 and L2 aside from the extreme end of both divisions. So if he has a good 5 months there I think that's a good enough audition to be included in next years squad.

Love it, proper non league stuff this, you only find out who you've signed when the teamsheet is in

Probably a huge factor, he’s always dreamt of teaming back up with VDC.

Might seem a strange decision but I’d guess they offered us more money and that’s probably going to allow us to pay the club shop staff for another week.

I think you give the club too much credit with that, the tweet from Chesterfield reminded them they forgot to announce it.

My biggest surprise is that both clubs managed to tweet it before you posted it on here.

Technically we actually announced the actual signing before Chesterfield did

It isn’t that deep, Chesterfield having a bit of fun announcing a signing and we have gone along with it

We couldn't get him a league one club?

Teams are quite settled at this time of the year. If you want him to go straight in and be a regular (as looks to be the case at Chesterfield), there does have to be a gap in the side. Otherwise he’d be bench warming. But yeah, maybe there was a team like that in L1.

Are we that strapped for cash that a loan fee from Chesterfield has had an impact here?

Feels especially bizarre given we also screw Fuchs with this decision.

The only way it can make sense is a) we need all and any cash we can get our hands on (desperation) or b) he’s going to train with us a couple of days a week in preparation for being integrated into the first team next season
