Remember arguing with a few clowns on here defending the bullshitting about attendances a while ago (like as in they actually think being lied to is acceptable and I'm the problem for not being). The fact they feel the need to is pretty telling.

And yet this is a club with actual potential which it's never going to get close to realising until this owner sells up ****s off back home. Hopefully there's a savvy person out there who sees it and invests in it.

Gonna be fun the next 2 games.

I'd say the attendance could go down even further.

I'm obviously banned so my decision got made for me a while ago but I don't think you could pay me to go to that Watford game.

Will the lower attendances result in lower season ticket sales for next year? That will be the kicker..

I’d imagine it will be reduced, however how many people buy them out of habit?

….family stand was barely ¾ full against Sheff Utd at the start of the game (and after half an hour most of the lettering in the seats was visible).

I sit in the family stand with my kids. The club in their infinite wisdom make it hard to use both the forwarding and resale. You have to call the club and can’t use the online options. This means I and those around me don’t bother with resale/forward as it’s a really hassle calling the club to organise. Another OG from Top & Co.

I actually heard Geddes’ jaw break at that one.

I think you're referring to the 0-1 defeat at the start of the 87-88 season.

The above 6k post is for the 3-2 win in 82-83.  Attendnce was 6155 if i remember correctly.

Why is it so hard? I just log in to list mine or forward mine online.

I recently took my daughter for first game and wanted to sit with her in the family stand with both my parents - but that wasn’t allowed as you can only have 2 adults per child apparently 🤣 so my dad had to sit on his own in his regular seat. Obviously there were loads of spare seats in the family stand and it didn’t look like the rule applied to anyone else.

You have to ring them if you’re giving an adults ticket to someone in a different age category (u22, u18, u12, u8 etc.).

That adult per family rule got a mate of mine too when wanting to be with his nephew at his first game. Just crap nonsense from the club, difficult for difficult sake.

I could tell the bloke on the phone was uncomfortable when explaining it as well as he knew it’s a joke.

Can’t wait to see their big climb down on NFT and the offer of ST cards, which would be a beautiful sight. Especially if we ever get sucked into League One again.

Can't see that ever happening (much as I'd like it to).   The Club seemed to think it was the hill to die on.   Weird behaviour.

It's basically lies, fudging the figures so the attendances look better than they actually are. I could easily take about 3k off the published numbers based on what I have seen.

I've not been able to attend quite a few this season (yay), and the ticket went unsold, but I'll bet my season ticket that my attendance was still counted. Ridiculous. Boxing Day should be an interesting turnout, another thinking below 20k?

On more than one occasion this season a steward I’ve asked has told me that less than 20,000 home supporters were through the turnstiles midway through the first half.

So add this to the average away followings of 2K and I don’t think we are far off with guessing the actual attendances this season have ranged from 22.5K-26K.

Yes I was, and as an anorak myself, I tip my hat to you for remembering that! 👏

It’s a hill I’d really like them to suffer on.
I gave up my ST because of it.

I'm old enough to remember approx 6.5k vs Shrewsbury at Filbert Street in the 80s.

Yeah I was there ,you could stretch  your arms and not touch anybody in the main stand standing .But you know  what I still enjoyed going ,believing  we were going to turn the corner .Could be an age thing i know but now at 63 I look at the team ,set up etc  and just think  **** you ,you wasters you deserve  everything  that's  coming  ,sad and bitter I know but thats how they've  made me feel .

Agree totally, I was there too. And we did turn the corner with a 15 game unbeaten run shortly after that match to secure promotion.

Can't bring myself to go to games anymore with this regime running the club into the ground.

Funny thing about "turning a corner", is that it's often a defeat in a previous match that shows you're on the right lines.

In the case here 1982-83 where we beat Shrewsbury Town 3-2, it was really the previous match ... a 2-0 defeat away to Grimsby Town, that we got things sorted.

We played really well at Grimsby the previous Saturday, and even though we lost, you could see we were on the right path.
