To me that email reads more like someone at the club fvcked up and didn’t request enough, rather than the 3rd party being short on stock

I agree that how it’s reads that’s why I said it was confusing as why would the club order the food when a 3rd party runs the catering?

The club would still need to request how much they want for staff etc

The most incompetently ran club in the country.

Impressive effort to go from one of the best to THE worst in under 10 years without any of the correct people being held responsible along the way.

When does the club’s financial year end? I’m just wondering if the cuts and stalls in payroll might be trying to trim the outgoings due to PSR?

Don’t worry, we’ll change it on the final day

When I worked down there as a turnstile operative we used to have a buffet of pies and sausage rolls on the nearest fixture to Xmas or NYE.

it wasn’t anything special just a nice gesture from the club.

They’re in a complete state of disarray right now by the sound of it.

The stewards should just not turn up get the game called off on safety grounds that would look good on tv and show the people well the worms that run the club mind due it wouldn't cause they won't be there but would put it out on mainstream media

If only. The game would probably have to be postponed too

This does not look good. When we were flying high there was always something positive that came out of nowhere. Free beer, a contract extension etc. All that is coming out is bad news. When we need little wins there is energy sapping bad news. Why upset the staff? They are doing it to the playing staff as well. Winks and Faes not getting a look in. Is the message if you don't like it then don't slam the door in your way out? It seems like penny pinching and it does not look great.

4. Not quite how it works if it’s a locked box transaction. I doubt we’ve been sold either, there would be more than a whisper if we had and there is zilch

5. The club is full of management level staff who have no idea if what they are doing .... or possibly don't care

The madness is that the scenario is salvageable. There are companies like Pukka Pies who are local and could service an order like this.

So what is it? Incompetence, finances or both?

Either way, rumour is a big player on cash flow

I can believe this the new caterer is a mess. Watford 30 minutes before kick off they again were short of food in hospitality running between lounges to scrounge unused servings. The new shared profits thing has seen everything trimmed.

What did they do, cut the prawns in half?

The email looks as though it’s been written by a 5 year old, looks a bit sus.

I am also wondering this. Has anyone actually got a reputable confirmed source?

not defending the club but just because footy away days have put out a tweet doesn’t make it true.

No reputable source has touched it so far. If it’s true I would expect one of the journalists who follow us to mention it this morning—a number of them were very quick to jump on the delayed December payment story.

The email being circulated still reads like a fake to me. At the very least I’m certain it’s not an official email from the HR dept. As others have speculated, it could be from somebody lower down, such as the head of stewards or something. But overall I’m still a little suspicious about it.

Seems fake to me. But you would have thought the club would be quite quick to address the situation if it were fake considering the current feeling around the club and negative media coverage we've been getting.

As some one pointed out yesterday the latest set of numbers we can realistically debate were for the period ending the end  of June 2024 .

Those  numbers suggested that there are/were  funds that could be drawn down should the club hit the financial buffers as it were but as we know that the club’s main income streams ( transfer fees received and PL monies) will be significantly reduced in the current year so even when we get the June 25 numbers we won’t get a true handle of the here and now.

It’s  pretty certain that all the transfer income that has been advanced has been blown and likewise all the PL parachute payments monies for the current season and maybe PL sums for 26/27 have already been drawn down.Have the sums held previously in reserve and funded by KP been blown or withdrawn?

The concern I have been banging on about  is that basic running costs can no longer be afforded. Paying wages late is potentially a huge indicator and a well run and financed employer knows everything about its payroll commitments and not dealing with payment on time can’t just be shrugged off by a bland comment about aligning payment dates. The non payment was a very late in the day decision it was a not planned, not communicated in advance . Was it a cash flow call or a new broom stamping their authority?

My guess is , and it’s just that , sums payable around the 19th of December which just happens to be the date HMRC will be looking for its wedge , would have been greater than available cash and whilst payments not made on time  to HMRC have to reported to the EFL whereas late payment of staff wages won’t need to reported as yet.

I am 50-50 regarding the validity of  reports re stewards food.

The worry is that there really is a penny pinching exercise now being carried out that or the club is in a basic period of rudderless management. But and a big but the club have vast numbers of non playing staff who no doubt are well versed in the process and requirements of putting a game on surely one of the support staff would have picked up on omissions.

If it's real - Jesus Christ, bunch of idiots

If it's fake - Would take 5 minutes to put something on X saying "LCFC can confirm there is a fake communication circulating on social media, we'd like to reassure our loyal Stewards and our concerned fans that their vouchers will be in place as always"

Bloke I work with is a steward at Leicester.

He's never once mentioned to me that they get free food at any matches(especially nothing about vouchers)and he's been working there for years.

They said nothing about the staff being paid late, why would they say anything about this?

Comms and PR strategy has been for years to say absolutely nothing.
