Heard a horrible rumour, Villa are keen on him :nono:

No way near good enough for Villa. I think people have forgotten the difference between Premier league and Championship

Ok Q the next 15 pages where the forum whips itself into a frenzy about missing out on him because we are so inept and we get repeated “well I wouldn’t blame him, far to good for us etc etc blah blah…”

He’s 21 ripping it up in the championship of course teams will be looking at him but currently he doesn’t make Forest’s starting 11 let alone Villa’s fcol.
He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and support/guidance by his dad, I’m sure which ever team he decides on in the summer it will be for playing reasons and not for money or to warm the bench of some team where he’ll get cup and the odd league game.

I can see him signing for us regardless of us staying in the championship, he’s aware he’s 21 and his current limitations & will work on them with us and we’ll be selling him for a good few quid in a few years time when he does go to a top 6 team when he’s good and ready.

Mmmm sounds good that

I really can't see Jordan signing for us on a permanent deal. He clearly will have a lot more options than a mid table championship club in disarray that are continually plagued with problems on and off the pitch. He can and will,  do much better than us next season which really shows how far Top has let our club slide. Heartbreaking really.

We have the option so unless we loan him out, he starts next season with us. If we are in the playoffs next season around Jan, then he could stay.

if there is a good offer and he does go, then at the very least we will have made some good money.

We have the option to sign him for 5 mil at the end of the season

We would be stupid (and we are run by Top and Rudkin so unfortunately this is a very good possibility) not to sign him...

So I feel sorry for him, but he looks to be lumbered here next season too unless we sell him for a profit

I would have thought he would agree unless Leicester slip further to League one. I don’t think we can sign him and sell on immediately for a profit in the same window  but I can see it happening later in the season. Unless of course Leicester do challenge again but that won’t happen without investment in players infrastructure and better decision making

I do genuinely think he’d like this to work out. And he’d be happy to stick around for another champ season under the right manager.

He’s got a box and his family come to every home game. Can’t think of many other than Vardy who have done the same.

Obviously might be out of his control but I think he likes it here.

He doesnt play for Villa or a team chasing top 4. And he werent good enough for Chelsea like we all said, hence why he was moved on

I think we sign him and get a new manager in the summer and try to build the team around him.

We have to start somewhere.

You said between the Championship and Prem, Everton are hardly in a relegation fight and he has been on of there best players.

KDH was a Premier league player for 2 seasons with us anyway? We knew he was good enough for the Prem. Ive no doubt whatsoever that Jordan James could step up to the Prem. But id be amazed if it werent for one of the teams that have been promoted. He isnt getting in Villas team

They rely on McGinn I don't think James is far off him tbh

Exactly, I would push him further forward as a 2nd 8 more often and make him the focal point of the team.

It’s an option, not an obligation. It purely means we could say we want to sign at a pre-agreed price (so Rennes couldn’t put the fee up based on his performances this season). The player still has to agree and other clubs could still come in for him.

We have little power here so why would he stay here?

Hopefully next summer will be when we make changes to the squad of significance. I’m not holding my breath though. Hopefully we will still be in the championship but maybe not if we continue to play like we did at Wrexham.

Just because we have an option to sign him doesn't mean he has to agree to sign, just that if we offer £5m, Rennes have to accept. If there's interest from the Premier League, he wont stay here.

Its only an option like we had with Lookman, Under and Akgun...or other teams had with Praet, Soumare and Thomas. It doesn't mean he's joining us as its not an obligation.

people saying he will sign someone else, doesn't he have to sign for us if we meet the 5mill valuation? aren't we in the driving seat if we have the funds?

are you 100% sure about this? so he can say no even if we meet the 5 mill valuation? thats crap if so, but completely understand from his side if he doesn't sign
