I don't actually think we'll go down, this season.

The issue, as people of my mind set keep trying to articulate, is this upstairs setup will only continue to take us backwards. And it might be next season, the season after, or in four seasons time, but with them in charge it will happen.

I’m not as confident as you are about this season to be honest!

I’d add to this and put it out there that I do not think we will ever make it back to the PL with this ownership. I just wonder how long it’ll be until people clock on.

It seems like our main hopes of staying up are in the hands of young kids who have no experience of men's football. What sad and depressing times.

There's similarities between this season and when we first went down from the premier league 3 years ago. Lazy, overpaid players, the "we'll be alright" speech from James Maddison and more recently Jordan James (which to be fair to him was a question he was asked in an interview about if we are relegation candidates), an unwillingness for the board and players to accept its a relegation battle we are in (no Top we wont make the play offs), sacking a manager and dithering around for weeks on end again and wasting key home games against other relegation rivals. Are there more?

Said it before Bobb from Manchester City reserves to bottom half Premier League Fulham £27 million…….where are we in that whole buying process

We can’t afford £27 m

Bobb wouldn’t come here

We are loaning City players from the Youth set up

So how long, how much money will it take, where do we need to be in what league to rub shoulders with Fulham? We are light years off it……

Until we can prove we have any goalscorers without Jordan James, I fail to see how people think we get out of this. I think we'll be 4-6 adrift by the end of the month and more by the time James is back fit.

Exactly......JJ has been carrying this "team".........and for a loan player to do that speaks alot about the so called "team" we have at the moment.

I do think just getting promoted means those kind of fees become possibly. Look at Sunderland. They got promoted from nowhere and because their finances were under control, were in a position to do so.

To be fair, Sunderland and to an extent Leeds, have shown that it isn’t a closed shop. I think there were just two years (Sheffield United/Burnley/Luton and us/Ipswich/Southampton) where there was just either a lack of ambition, just not ready or circus clubs like us and Southampton.

I just don’t think this ownership will be able to pull their sh*t together to even make the sensible decisions to see us promoted again. Staying up yeah, even bigger task. But I will be shocked if we ever get promoted again under Aiyawatt. A see potentially Charlton type future, was a PL club and now yo-yo’s between the Championship/L1.

Took an awfully long time for Sunderland to turn it around…..they were where we are, appoint manager, allow signings, sack manager, appoint new manager, sell signed players cheaply, sign new players and repeat the process, for over ten years…..it will take us as long…….

I want us to get relegated, better chance of getting a promotion next season and gain momentum.

Are you being serious?

Going into a division having players that don't care about the shirt, earning as much a week as your opponents full squad but they give 100% each game? Can you see them wanting to perform on a wet and windy night away to Bromley?

I remember when it happened to my club. We were also like a rudderless ship at the time and thought it would be a season of fun. We ended up in League 2 and even struggled there. It was only a late run that got us to 6th and luckily we won the playoffs.

Be careful what you wish for.

You're lucky that Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn and WBA have all imploded at the same time. It won't take a lot to stay up. All you have to do is win a game before they do.

I’m still amazed that we haven’t recruited a proven striker. It seems that the 2 front men coming in are an attacking midfielder and a winger that can play as a forward. This is so typical of recent recruitment last year with forwards which is making do with utility players mainly wingers that on occasion can play up front

Not saying it would be easy, just a better chance at achieving something in league one.

If we stay in the championship we still have players that dont care about the shirt.

When i was a kid i wished Leicester would win the premier league, fa cup and play in the champions league.........

Most of us, who have been fans for decades, are well used to the chaos that seems to surround our club. We’ve seen some crazy highs and woeful lows in the last 10 years. This cliff plunge was entirely obvious the moment we missed out on CL footie the 2nd time. I called it then because I could see it. Just like I can see further chaos now.

I don’t think we will be relegated this season, but I’m actually not bothered if we do. It might speed the clear out and a proper restructure. We need it desperately. Just the joys of following Leicester City.

I think I've spotted a flaw in your argument!

To think there was arseholes on this forum actively wanting Forest to come up so we could have a derby, only to end up with the very realistic possibility of us being 2 leagues and worlds apart playing Notts County or Mansfield instead lol

I can see Oxford being above us by end of March, at least they have some bo11ox.

I refuse to believe you could see us struggling so badly after failing to get CL football, but don't think we'll get relegated this season.

Can I assume no players will have a clause to reduce salary for next season if we got down to league 1? The plonkers wouldn’t have thought about that

I’d imagine a relegation clause applies ongoing regardless of league. So if they had a 10% or 15% reduction when we came down, wouldn’t it apply again?

I can’t remember which article it was in on one of the websites this week explaining our downfall, but it claimed many hadn’t been put on relegation clauses from the Prem to the Champ. No chance there’s League One ones.

People see it at different speeds.

I distinctly remember having a conversation with a Newcastle supporting mate when their takeover happened in October 2021, before they appointed Howe and saying I hope they take Rodgers and we will be relegated within 3 years if things didn’t change. We were relegated 18 months later…

And guess what, I have the same feeling about this season.
