Let's face it, Ayew and Daka are a waste of a place in the team. We need somebody to fill that gap and we're going to need somebody we can afford who is willing to come to us. We are not a particularly attractive propositionat the moment. If Aribo does come I trust he will be better than either of our present incumbents. Surely you cannot be more ineffective. Every week I seem to see other teams with strikers I have never heard of doing a better job. Couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag - no threat on the ground and none in the air, we desperately need someone and if it has to be Aribo I hope it works out. Just because he's crap at one club doesn't necessarily mean he can't do a job at another.

Aribo is not a striker, the big issue is Southampton fans don’t seem to rate him, which suggests he’s probably equally rubbish

That is a fair point but wouldn't be the first player to benefit from a change of club and do well.

It can happen but it’s unlikely to happen here with our recruitment, especially with this type and calibre of player, we sign a terrible player and normally they get worse. Saints fans describe him as a lazy clumsy waste of space, so sounds like he should fit in well!

It’s not that we don’t have money. It’s that our hands are tired due to FFP restrictions. People need to stop spinning the “we don’t have money” narrative.

Having no limit left on the credit card / not being able to spend in order to stay within the rules … same end result - we have no money to spend

Seems to be a highly rated kid at Man City & Pep spoke very highly of him recently.

But appears he is a CAM which i don't think we need with De Cordova Reid & Page to play there already.

We desperately need a centre forward & while this lad "can" play there its not his natural striker & IMO may not sniff out the limited chances we do create.

Let us hope he proves otherwise

We better all pray the manager that comes in uses a system with a False 9.

According to Man City fans, thats his best position.

I know a manager who often played a false nine, AND played Joe Aribo 32 times in THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!

The biggest issue here is, you need attacking 8s/10s as advanced runners for this to work. Airborne is criminally slow and Reid is erratic. Hmmmm

I can already hear the shouts of, "Pass it, Div!" and "Get into him, Div!" on the training ground.

So nothing's changing then...

Just throwing this around… I don’t think for a second Man City would agree to loan us a player without knowing who our new/full time manager will be.

This has gone quiet

They will stagger from now until 7 to make it seem exciting/look like they’ve worked hard

Ah yes. They’d love it if we appointed a manager who Pep said he could learn a lot from or something along those lines…..
