Anybody else noticed that we now have to wait a couple of days for the 'official' attendance at home matches to be announced. Until recently they were published literally after full time.

Guess now it gives them time to massage the figures to suit whichever scenario they choose.

There was clearly 31k there yesterday. As there was last week, and every home game this season. The king power brand is good and strong 😀

FOI’s have already been done to the City council who claim they don’t hold the figures.

I would suggest someone do a FOI to the Police.

Or 30999 after Top cleared off at half-time.

It's funny because at Gillingham (local team as a kid), they would actually understand report the figures so that they paid less tax. Then again, Paul Scally (owner) is an absolute crook, whereas Top's a total narcissist so that probably explains why we over inflate

My guess was around 24k yesterday. I wasn’t sure how many left after the second goal.

A lot left after that, I had to queue to leave the carpark 😅

I thought I saw somewhere once that they automatically count all season ticket holders in the attendance, regardless whether they show up or not.  Not sure if true.

This season they have sold season tickets and many do not seem to be going. There will be a drop off next season. How many existing and new ones will want to commit next season after last season and this one?

Next season anyone who wants a ST will likely get one, can't see there being a waiting list after the season we've had.

They always used to announce it, a few minutes after the final whistle.

I think it's pretty obvious why they've stopped doing this ... announcing the crowd as 31,000 when we can all see it was about 24,000, would just elicit hoots of derision.   Even our incompetent Club officials can see that.

They now just wait a few days, hoping the moment's past and you've got on with your life.     And the "tickets sold" figure typically appears on the BBC match report between one and seven days later.     Pathetic!

They're irrelevant to be honest. Tickets sold rather than actual attendances, thousands don't turn up, tens of thousand leave before full time.

Tickets sold don't necessarily count on 'official' attendance.

Its calculated by the turnstiles and whats been scanned.

Like I said, 20,880 was the official attendance for yesterday.

I thought they used to announce the attendance around the 80th minute mark. They would also say including c amount of away fans.Pretty sure most clubs still do this.

Which is why the current tactic is like you said.Pathetic

Where I go now (Brackley Town) they proudly announce attendance around 75-80 minute mark without fail and publish the away number too.

Having said that I was at Curzon FC (I know! What excitement!) a few weeks back and they take two weeks to publish their crowd... yet they really don't need to as you can count the crowd it's that low!

Are you mad?

There was over 27,000 Vs West Brom which on that basis means there must have been over 60,000 there yesterday and a new club attendance record.

You'll have to do a little better than that, to convince us all ... but if you genuinely know someone ITK, then fair enough.
