It bugs me when the likes of Albrighton and parts of our fanbase use our previous success as a reason why we should back the owner. Its like if your wife cheated on you but its ok because years ago you had good times together so we'll just accept her cheating, and continue to allow her to do it. 

 

Nobody will ever forget our success but that doesn't mean Top and Rudkin get a free pass to destroy the club. Claudio didnt get a free pass when we started to struggle.

 

Im still yet to see any decent argument in support of Top other than "we won the league and fa cup" which quite frankly couldn't be more irrelevant right now.

Actiually Milan Mandric saved us and King Power under Vichai took us to the next level and greater things. But regardsless, as the stament reads that is "history" and not a reflection of what's happening now.

 

Using achievements 'Pre-Top' as "banked beownie points" and then cashing them in to excuse the current circumstances is a desperate and weak argument.

 

The happy clapping KPFC brigade seem to dredge variants of this phrase and a dash of the "we won the FA Cup" up to counter our KP Out arguments. 

 

I've said in other posts, in other threads just don't argue with them, state the current situations facts than sit back, because as soon you answer and counter their 'KP past achievements' argument it validates its existence and in turn their, all be it weak, attempts to protect the Nepo Baby.

They crave a response and chance to play "argument tennis" so if the majority of posts in a thread only have replies that are in response to a KP Out post and not a past glory their arguments are swamped and smothered.

This must be the point in history where it is most common that people have such confidence in something that they're actually wrong about. I wonder what's actually caused this. It transcends football.

Of course the twisted irony is that these same supporters will be happy to sing songs at Forest, Leeds et al about 'so many years and you've won fck all' or ''you live in the past'.

It certainly couldn't be less relevant now, you're correct. For starters, the title win was literally under a different chairman. The FA cup win was as a result of foundations that were already in place. The main thing Aiyawatt did as chariman in the lead up to winning the FA cup was appoint Brendan Rodgers, and even he had been lined up whilst Vichai was still alive. Whenever he has had to make decisions, he has been found wanting. The absolute car crash of an interview he gave a few weeks ago just confirmed to me that he has absolutely no idea what he is doing.

The Rodgers appointment is the one thing I think he could possibly take any credit for - we sacked Puel and had him ready within days.

 

They really did think they had cracked it though. Give him the keys, we've done our bit.

Oh yes, I remember. They saved us from 5th in the Championship, immediately allowed the manager to leave, "upgraded" to two expensive big names and were then forced to go back to the bloke they allowed to leave to sort out the mess they had created.

 

Thank God they saved us.
