Not sure who we could have appointed with that team. I doubt even Alex Ferguson would have got a tune out of them. The damage was done long before these no-hopers came in. That applies to the whole setup.

We are rancid but so is a lot of the division.

Had a really decent run in and even after picking up barely any points were a couple of results away from staying up.

Nigel Pearson would have comfortably kept us up.

Most of the games won were at the start of the season

If you exclude the wins in November, December, and one in January.

and bar Daka being a useless twat, we probably win a couple more where we kept clean sheets.

So that doesn’t apply to Martis time where he was banging in goals every week.

no one said anyone was doing a good job? I think you’ve jumped into the middle of a conversation. I took exception to someone saying that Marti was worse than Rowett or as bad. The evidence suggests other.

I think he probably was worse on the basis he had 2/3rds of the season, certainly as bad, coming in half way through a shit job and turning it around is more difficult than start a fresh season. Both should not have ever been here.

We got 3 wins in August (Shef Wed lucky against 10 men lucky at Charlton who were all over us),  0 Sept (draw at home to a poor Wrexham), 1 Oct (random 3-1 win at Swansea followed by a 1-1 Vs Pompey and loss to Blackburn, 2 Lucky wins in November (1 with a Daka brace, a 1-1 draw vs 10 man Boro and last minute James goal we didn't deserve vs Norwich away, who were bottom and winless at home) , December (3) we somehow beat Derby 2 times and Ipswich once (probably the only decent performances under him), January (1) Played off the park by West Brom Fatawu worldy at the end saved us). In the meantime Southampton, Sheffield United (twice) and the mighty QPR absolutely spanked us embarrassingly. So really bar the start of the season and Derby being shit, we were probably averaging 1 win a month under that clueless clown and even that was pure class from one player as opposed to a coherent team and tactical plan.

Good tbf. Absolutely useless bloke

He doesn't deserve an announcement.

He was unfit, unsuitable and under qualified for the job. He wore it like an ill fitting suit..

Even worse were his dismal attempts at intelligence. He tried to give off an air of someone well read, well researched. I'd love to know his IQ. No amount of garbage airport WH Smith self improvement books can bump up the the IQ

Didn't even thank him. Ouch.

It's funny considering they were absolutely going to give him next season if they missed out on their first few targets. As is usually the case.

A rare piece of emotional intelligence and good judgement form the club.

Basically a 'p1ss off, Rowett'

Interesting that you credit the club for getting rid of the s**t manager that they themselves appointed.....on the back of their several other recent failures.

personally, im more concerned about the idiot(s) in charge of managerial appointments in view of our recent history...!

no point continually blaming s**t managers for doing a s**t job....what else would you expect from s**t managers??

Thank him for what? Being an abject failure.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying.

Rowett did a poor job I know.

But Marti did an even worse job IMO

That’s clearly not true. Rowett was worse statistically and visibly too. Remember he also effectively relegated Oxford in the same season. Top and Rudkin gave us less chance of staying up when Rowett was appointed.

Cifuentes got us relegated pure and simple, his team, playing his way, his coaches, he had 2/3rds of the season to make sure we were well away from the relegation zone beating the likes of Wrexham, Blackburn and Pompey at home. However, he did not because he was a useless shit ****. Neither manager should have ever been at this club. Comparing a bloke brought in to turn around a team that couldn’t play pass or defend for shit, to a blokes coaching that led us there is wild. Then using an Oxford team that is punching above its weight ( he saved last year) as a double relegation. Especially when it’s claimed it’s not everyone’s favourite cheeky Spanishmans fault we were relegated here but is Rowetts fault at a club he was sacked from several games before Cifuentes!! Bizarre!

I forgot that Marti was in the relegation zone for zero days whilst he was here and also managed to win 2 games in 13. Bizarre!

It’s irrelevant he was taking us there at a fast pace. Honestly I don’t know how anyone can sit a watch the insipid shit that his teams served up and say that he deserved more time and wouldn’t have taken us down, the trend was downward, the guy had no plan a let alone a plan b, he would not have turned that around. We were bottom of every single key metric under him it was a matter of time, strangely we did use every bit of luck we had in his games. At best he deserved to win 3 games, 2 of those against Derby the rest we were lucky. We had the worst defensive days, worst distance covered, worst press, most goals against from set pieces, most possession conceded in dangerous areas. He was a ****ing awful clown who should have never got the job. He took us down.

Not saying Marti was good, just saying Rowett was a lot lot worse!
