I would just rather a youth player gets the chance in his place, we never should have let someone like Jake Evans out on loan. This would have been his chance to showcase what he can do.

I agree 100%

I watched the Don's vs Northampton game on Sunday, and I appreciate it's League One, but Evans 2nd half when moved more central was picked out numerous times by the commentary team and looked exactly that we are missing. Energy, a will to actually get forward, pressing and being a general pest for their defence, he came close a few times, and with better quality behind him (JJ, Mukasa, Winks etc) would have had more and better opportunities to put one away.  He was everything both Daka and Ayew even if combined aren’t.

What would we have to loose as our current striker options are doing a sterling job...

They'll all be seeing plenty of league 1 next season ,so we'll see what their all made of.

Its not a mentality, its a fact.

I've actually been a bit critical of Rowett. I think Ipswich and Borough were largely poor and these were games we could have won, but i think the mentality now is to think like the underdog. I dont care where they are in the table. Every game in the EPL is winnable, we arent playing Man City, and if you can beat them on the day then their previous form is meaningless.

The next 2 games Rowett is playing 2 teams really struggling for form. The Manager at Bristol is playing silly buggers and QPR have scored 4 in their last 6.

If we come away with a draw tonight, it proves to me we are done. This is the chance. Next two games are there on the plate. What worries me is that Rowett will go for defend for your lives mode and tonight ends up 1-1. And lots of fans fall for it because we 'defended well'.

agree, tonight is a MUST win, anything else and it confirms to me we are toast

I know what you mean, but JJ and Mukasa are both on loan so are off in a flash, and I doubt Winks will hang around.

But I get the jist of your post my friend, and it scares me to think you could be spot on.

These 2 games will define the season, worst case scenario is 3 points, and even that's poor. 0/1/2 points and we're going down IMO. We've got 10 games left and we need 13/14 points, the games are running out.

4 points minimum, people forgetting Oxford have now gained 5 points on us in two games, we have to finish above West Brom AND Oxford now

That’s right, when all else fails a bare faced refusal to look facts in the face is bound to see you through

It's not looking good.

But we know there's still 10 games to play. We all know fortunes in football can swing quickly, and on razor thin margins. And we know that West Brom and Oxford's position is about as bad as ours. With Blackburn not much better off either.

need to smash these for not selling us Maynard

Bristol City wished they had as Maynard did his knee in a skiing accident shortly afterwards and hardly played again. Dodged a bullet.

And apparently Rudkin was at his hospital bed still offering him £50 k a week!!!

We're one point below West Brom, four points below Blackburn and five points below Portsmouth, with a better goal difference than any of them. There are 10 games to go. Please explain—preferably in way that at least has a semblance of logic—how relegation is a 'fact'?

Or is it merely that some people are so emotionally fragile that they insist on rigidly claiming we're definitely going down—when that clearly is not the case—as a bizarre coping mechanism?

Actually it was you that claimed survival was certain and there are facts to suggest it isn’t.

He did say it very "statement of fact" didn't he....the irony has been lost somewhere :D...

When did I say it was certain? I expressed an opinion—I didn't state that it was 'fact' or accuse anybody who disagreed of being in denial. That was you.

Please point to the bit where I used the word fact or suggested anybody with a different view is in denial. For some reason I still can't see it....

How has Evans been doing out on loan? Anything to suggest that he would of been of Championship standard this year? Mind you i suppose no one has

He's only played twice but he is with a struggling league one team. Also Kevin Nolan just been sacked there who brought him in.

It’s a clear statement, if you can’t see that I’ll leave it with you. Have a lovely day.

Never one to not encourage youth, I am afraid none of the Monga, Page, Aluko, Thomas(S) et Al have been anywhere near good enough/consistent/strong enough to be in the starting eleven

Put them in front of a crowd that boo’s more than cheers, I would say the club is handling their progress quite well, and hopefully their time will come….

They looked hopeless at the back against Cov today. Got to be going for the jugular here.

We're going for the jugular with a furry dice and a condom as weapons

Lads come on, keep it together. We have a game to lose in a few hours. Focus.

I’m joking btw, if you can’t bicker in the match thread about semantics then where can you?
