Popular Post Sol thewall Bamba Posted 10 March Popular Post Posted 10 March There's just no way he can look at Ayews running stats and start him in this kind of game. It's shit or bust (quite literally) tonight and Saturday. 12 1

Ruud Van Nistelrooy tried to yet was vilified on here and in the boardroom for doing so. He knew that Winks is a bad egg and tried to do the right thing. 1

He'll want to bring James and Mukasa in but won't want to drop Skipp or Winks, so the logical move is to play James further up (even though that's not his best position) and Mukasa as a winger (where he can play). The only question is whether Mavididi or Fatawu drop out. I also suspect we'll see Lascelles from the start tonight.
Popular Post Katy Posted 10 March Popular Post Posted 10 March I don’t think there’s any justification for playing Ayew at any point during games anymore. You may as well play with 10 men, he’s next to useless. He strikes me as a bit of an energy vampire because he seems to suck the life out of everyone when he comes on - players and fans! 9

He won't start him unless circumstances force his hand, and even then he'll probably look at other options first. 1

I would just rather a youth player gets the chance in his place, we never should have let someone like Jake Evans out on loan. This would have been his chance to showcase what he can do. 2
TheGoldenGod Posted 10 March Posted 10 March The fact I'm seeing people saying it might be 2 up top makes me want to bleach my eyes. If Gary even thinks about starting Ayew then it's goodnight Vienna for him in my eyes, be terminating contracts on the spot! 1

I dont think he starts but Rowett hasnt looked at other options when he has needed a change. And that's not me criticising Rowett - I think because there are no other options. 1

There are no opportunities, we’re comfortably the worst team in the league besides Sheffield Wednesday. We’re incredibly mentally fragile, have zero confidence, and a fractured group of players, a mix of want aways, loans and players who just aren’t good enough…. It’s highly likely we lose this, comfortably, were easy pickings for everyone, if we lose then we’re 100% down, if we somehow muster a win, there may be some hope….. But, I still maintain we’re done, we can’t even hold onto leads against anyone…. And we tend to do worse against the lesser teams in the division. Its not a mentality, its a fact. I've actually been a bit critical of Rowett. I think Ipswich and Borough were largely poor and these were games we could have won, but i think the mentality now is to think like the underdog. I dont care where they are in the table. Every game in the EPL is winnable, we arent playing Man City, and if you can beat them on the day then their previous form is meaningless. The next 2 games Rowett is playing 2 teams really struggling for form. The Manager at Bristol is playing silly buggers and QPR have scored 4 in their last 6. If we come away with a draw tonight, it proves to me we are done. This is the chance. Next two games are there on the plate. What worries me is that Rowett will go for defend for your lives mode and tonight ends up 1-1. And lots of fans fall for it because we 'defended well'.

Well you've said it yourself—Ayew gets into the matchday squad because of the lack of other options. Despite his limitations, Daka is essential to the way Rowett wants us to play because of his energy and willingness to chase lost causes. If we try to make him run for 90mins every game he'll probably end up doing his hamstring or something and then we'd be properly buggered. Ayew comes on to preserve Daka's fitness. However now that JJ is fit, it opens up the possibility opens up for Mukasa to slot in for Daka when required so we may see less of Ayew—unless of course there is some truth in the conspiracy theory about his contract.... After Saturday's game Rowett was pretty adamant that away points will mean nothing if we can't win our home games. He knows that home draws won't get us out of the mess we're in. I think he'll go for it tonight. 2

I took the decision two weeks ago that I would not watch another second of Ayew on the pitch so if he starts I'm not watching, if he comes on I turn off. 1
Leicester_Loyal Posted 10 March Posted 10 March These 2 games will define the season, worst case scenario is 3 points, and even that's poor. 0/1/2 points and we're going down IMO. We've got 10 games left and we need 13/14 points, the games are running out.

Mind you i suppose no one has
filbertway Posted 10 March Posted 10 March A win would be nice tonight but seeing a good dominant 90 minute performance would give me more confidence than a lucky win. Take a nice lead into half time and dont let them attack us for the entirety of the 2nd half. Thats the dream

Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 10 March Posted 10 March If the rumours of Ayew starting are true Bristol City are a great price at 2/1 despite their missing players.
