I think the remaining value is amortised over the new period. So if Winks had say £5M remaining over one (final) year but signed a 1 year contract extension it would become £5M over 2 years - so his remaining value in the final (2nd) year would be £2.5M?

For further context league 1 has a maximum of 22 players that can be registered.

 

- Players under the age of 21 do not count as usual, but goalkeepers also don’t count towards registration.

- The 22 man squad must consist of 8 homegrown players with 7 of those required to be in the matchday squad.

- 1 player must be in the matchday squad who’s been with the team from 18 years old or younger.

 

I would expect the following to leave with many staying due to wages being too high (Vesty) or book value being to high to move them on (Skipp)

I think it’s more likely his £10m fee would have initially been amortised over 3 years but at year 1 the remaining £6.7m will have been reamortised to reflect the extra year. So roughly £2.2m per year. That’s what I think will be left.

I think staying close to home is important right now for JJ and he doesn’t want to be in France. You could have an agreement that should someone offer a fee for example £10m then you sell him. I agree it’s unlikely but I don’t think it’s impossible far from it.

 

Hamza and LT are going to be here and ultimately they are more than good enough for league 1. Do I like it? No. But funds are going to be needed elsewhere especially in the front 4. I also think a new left back is needed so you could sign a starter with LT as back up.

I highly doubt it. Payment structures are agreed in advance with written details of when the instalments will be paid. I don’t think that’ll change based of a promotion.

Amortisation isn’t the same as payment structures. If a new contract is agreed before the fee has been amortised then the remaining amortised balance can then be revised over the new contract duration.
