Strange one for me, had season tickets on and off. Always felt that Top and KPFC had illusions of being a top club and were not. We won the league jumping about 20 places. It was a one off and I accepted it. Double relegation is an absolute disgrace. A total miss management inspired by pride and glory hunters thinking we’d be a top club and spunking the finances. We’re not! Hoping this clears out that mindset. I’ve always been massively KP out since the FA cup. The sheer relief of being relegated has made me calm down. For the first time ever I’ve reflected and realised that Top is way out of his depth but sat and watched his dad die here. Let’s just hope that some Thai pride dies within him now and he sacks those sycophants and starts a new.

I’ve been a little surprised by the sheer amount of attention we’ve got for being relegated, a lot of neutral fans clearly very shocked we’ve ended up where we have, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a relegation to League 1 be spoken about anywhere near this much. Our standing in the game to neutrals was probably a little higher than most of us realise, although that’s obviously on the decline now.

Also I’m a little amused to see so many sets of fans revelling in our demise, local rivals makes sense but so many different fanbases are livid over one thing or another and now loving it, Liverpool, Everton, Leeds, etc, even seen West Brom fans acting like this is some sort of justice for Vardy tormenting them over the years. So many fans have been waiting for this moment meanwhile half of them we wouldn’t give a second thought to if they were in our position.

Not sure these are exactly positives but it’s about as close as I’ve got at the moment.

All the broadcasters & journalists making reference that we have been relegated to the third tier 10 years after winning the Premier League.

Well Derby County managed it in 9 after winning the old First Division in 74/75.

Small wins.

Hopefully one of positives is going to be the disappearance on this forum of the grossly arrogant posters who have spread vicious, vitriolic and toxic atmospheres this past 2 years. They declare their hate for everything to do with the club, boasting that they’re the only ones who care about the club, citing the fact that they have no connection anymore and will not be going again. Good riddance then. They attack fellow fans especially anyone over 50 who has blue blood running their veins. We all know how badly the club has been run and that changes are desperately necessary. If you have better things to do on a match day like you say you have, then please, please do it and leave Leicester City to those of us who do care. One poster even tried to PROVE that fans are KP supporters, by showing one fan holding up a Chairman’s scarf, which we all received. Didn’t bother looking for anyone with a City scarf as that wouldn’t have suited the narrative. So do us all a favour and p*** off to someone else’s forum.

They did, they did not show up tonight better things to do obviously.

If I may,  I'd like to put a different point of view

Apparently a reasonably significant number of Season Ticket holders have not renewed, including myself

For the first time since well before we won the Premier League, this will give many new fans the chance to get a ST or match tickets and attend the home games.  I'm thinking particularly of the kids. I first came when I was 12 and was quickly smitten and being a diehard fan all these years has given me so much, good and bad.

This 'refreshing' of the fan base can only be a good thing in my opinion, I've nothing against the older fans, I'm one myself

Lets hope the football will be entertaining enough to keep their interest

There's very few positives, people say we'll be able to play the kids to get some identity back but any decent kids might get poached too for a fraction of their value.

A great reset might not materialise really.

OK, so I'll ask the simple question, what do you think is the answer.

How should this situation be tackled?

I’ve just watched Lincoln’s celebrations…

If this is not a stark reminder of this decline I don’t know what it. There are no positives to this at all.

Even if we win the league next season (which we won’t) it won’t be cause for celebration, it will be like failing an exam, going back to retake it and passing it… it’s a necessity, not a luxury.

We get to sing 60/80/100/120 years and you’ve won ___ all to 9/10’s of the division.

‘Have you ever seen Stevenage win the league?’

:scarf:

I know you're joking but I really hope we dont do that.

I enjoyed celebrating in Southend when we won League One in 2009. I will enjoy it again if we win the league next season, which we have a good chance of doing.

IMO we only have a chance of winning the league if the disconnect between fans and club is solved.

I don't see Top or Rudkin leaving, so to have any chance of promotion all the current senior players need to leave.

We can't go into the season with Winks, Vesty, Faes, Mavididi, Skipp, BDR, Hamza, Okoli, Thomas, Fatawu or nothing changes.

We need to promote some of the youth and sign new players who are leaders and proud to play for Leicester and prepared to run thru a wall for the shirt to have any chance.

We just need to clear the decks player wise, get in a manager who's career is on the up, get a bit lucky that we're the club it really works for with them, and start winning football matches. Winning football matches makes football fans happy.

The debt has and will continue to cripple the club and that is down to two things. Utter incompetence and sheer bad financial management. There is no silver bullet. The club is in dire trouble. Our player wage bill this season is more than double that of Championship winners Coventry. You couldn't make it up. Vestergaard still has a year left on his contract on something like 60K a week. Almost certainly the highest paid player in league one by far.

Rudkin got a lot to answer for and Top can see how useless he is

Good post, with valid points.

But your 2nd paragraph is the real killer here.

'Cvnt' Top and Rudkin (and the wider board) continued association with the club is what will skupper any half decent, well intend plan.  They simply need to go or nothing  meaningful will change, they lack the ability too.

Your final paragraph, is spot on IMO, but I seriously think we are in such financial dire staights that players coming into the club with the prerequisites you mentioned can't and possibly won't happen.  Seeking Journeymen freebies and loans is not the answer to get the standard of players we truly need.

June 15th onwards will be the most telling time I our history I think, hopefully the bad egg's and high earning scumbags can broker deals to jump ship from League One and release pressure from the wages front.

Yes, yes I know, I'm living in Cuckoo land, as no one is going to offer the 'Rudkin Wages' for them to go, so the leeches will  be here come pre-season and possibly sending us into Administration.

Smart money takes the reduction and gets a new contract, Greedy money looses their job. Then enters the lottery of a worse deal than if  jumping ship.

But we have to remember, too footballers we are only a job, nothing more......

Thanks, I forgot to add Kristiansen to the list.

Unfortunately I just don't see Top or Rudkin leaving yet.

Top won't sell the club in league 1, unless he's forced to in administration, he'll want to get back to the PL to maximise his return.

We're at a stand off, we support the team in the stadium and continue to protest against Top and demand Rudkin is sacked  outside the stadium, but if we want promotion then fans have to get behind the team during games.

If we have the same disconnect between fans and players as this season then we'll drop to league 2 IMO.

League 1 is different to the championship, alot of players are signed on short-term contracts 1 or 2 years, there is a huge turnover of players in league 1 and 2.

I think it will be possible to pick up the right characters on a free to play for Leicester in this league, provided we appoint a manager quickly and start planning in May instead of wasting months as usual.

1. I've posted elsewhere that only when we become too big a financial burden does he sell. Not protests or boycott's he doesn't care personally on that front.

Who knows if we are close yet only the club can answer that.

2. Not happening, too much of a divide. We can't organise anything meaningful now to that effect not to think what will happen under the pressure of League One.

3. The residue of bad eggs and high earners, coupled with the Toxic culture still dribbling down from Cvnt Top  add in a splash of the sh1t players that we will now only attract and afford I fear the disconnect may still continue for a while yet ...I fear the situation will only accelerate point 1..
