The club absolutely knew what the fans thought of the appointment. Rob Tanner has said they didn’t appoint him the first time around because of the reaction of the supporters.

We had anti-Martin chants in the stands a year before he got the job.

They hold the support in such contempt that I swear they do shit just to spite us.

I'd suggest also... clueless, inept, disgraceful, disinterested, self-serving, money grabbing, selfish, arrogant, greedy, or any other negative adjective you can think of.

So contemptuous.

We've become a club that's mocked in the football circles and the press. It's abhorrent that we now stink the lower leagues out and it's entirely down to the bollox we have as owners, board members, etc. If they saw a missile coming their way they wouldn't duck, such is their arrogance and belief in their own infallibility.

Our owner took a team that won the FA cup and finished 5th, twice in the PL, and turned into a bottom half league 1 club within a few years. Martin is a problem, but our biggest problem is the owner and his side kick.

All true but a big part of Top’s problem is employing people like RM.

Russell -

it appears to me that you instruct McCarthy to pass short when he has the ball with a long pass still being withing the penalty box. Have a look at Coventry's goal yesterday; Rushworth  kicked long for their winger to run onto the ball and score. What are your "learnings from this?

Surely Alves (who has "energy") could do something similar.(As an aside, I guess Burns could do similar a few years ago but he now seems to have little speed - doesn't a fitness test before diving a 3 year contract pick this up).

Would this make it less likely for an opposition high press which has been used to good effect by teams knowing there is always a very short pass from McCarthy?

Suggested homework for the 3 week league break - watch our games from 2015/16 and consider why the title was won with City nearly always having less possession every game. Ok, we had some decent players but there was a different intent. Possession in itself does not win matches.

Try mixing the style up a bit and you may have a better reception from fans at end of most games.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          .

If I could grab this twat by the throat and shout this at him, it's exactly what I'd say.

If Martin had an ounce of sense he would get into mix things up, not just stick to the same mind numbing rubbish.  Be a bit more direct at times, can’t hurt can it?  Currently we’re pants.

It's his way, his way only. It's his doctrine. And it's always failed. He won't change and that's why he is so wrong for us.

I don't hate the man, how can anyone that doesn't know him. I just hate his tactical philosophy and the stubbornness that he believes in when it's clear to all that its a failed project.

Just sack him. He's not, and never was, the manager we need.

And continuing to back his best man at his wedding. The knob will never sack his mate. Rudkin has a job for life until we're sold.

That's why the guy is bulletproof and he knows it.

I admit to having a very serious bout of Martin Derangement Syndrome but he exemplifies a lot of what I dislike about modern culture and society. It's all about him and his half baked 'philosophy', and anyone that questions it or its results is getting "personal". No humility, no reflection, no backbone. At the same time he's so dull and lacking charisma. Soulless, thin-skinned football for the crappy 2020s. Compare that to some of the names mentioned in the just bumped Craig Shakespeare thread...

100%

If you question the usefulness of his 'philosophy' then a finger pointing exercise begins as to who is to blame for it not working. He believes it to be infallible and, therefore, he is never at fault. He doesn't seem himself as working at Leicester and, with that in mind, under scrutiny of the Leicester fans. He sees himself as providing a valuable service that shouldn't be questioned whatsoever.

There's no more a untouchable and sacred position in society than a football manager with a 'philosophy'.

The funniest part is that they think they're SO intelligent and SUCH deep thinkers that they're not at all open to criticism and being critical. Critical thinking actually showing some intelligence, of course...
