It’s not perfect but this squad has the tools to get automatics pretty comfortably.

All we needed was a fairly boring name that had some experience of the league and didn’t play the football equivalent of a panic attack.

We will be lucky to get 6th with Martin, that’s how shit he is. If we had any sense we sack him, and get Challinor in and watch us fly up the league.

Hopefully all the interested parties in purchasing the club stipulate he must go and they cave under that pressure

I genuinely think there will be a full clearing of the decks when we're bought. There's no one in any position of responsibility that deserves to stay here, other than possibly the new DoF.

We knew what we were getting

sacked at rangers after 10 games

we’ve gave him 9

I’ve yet to see anything to make me see we’ll make top 6

wants to score the perfect goal

pisses about at the back

mid table team written all over it

unless something dramatic changes

There were improvements. I'm happy we're actually creating a bit more now. They just need the mentality of winning at all costs, it seems theres still a bit of a reluctance to actually win if that makes sense. Teams that go up find a way to bundle the ball into the net one way or another, we seem to want to do it perfectly.

Improvement where? It’s the same shit over again, only this time against 10 men so we had even more possession. In the away end in the 2nd half, I could not believe how much of the game was being played in our third. There was no improvement yesterday at all.

Where is Kieran McKenna?

Levels above us. When he's off the naughty step/back from sabbatical (depends on which story you believe), he'll be straight to a Prem team.

I don't doubt 'culture' is a real thing in football but at the same time appoint a decent manager and give them a decent squad for that level and hey presto you're near the top of the league.

culture is important, I'm just not convinced by the idea that you can either have Martin fix the culture or have a proper manager winning games - a decent manager sorts out both (E.g  Pearson coming in 2011, bombing out the bad eggs like Mills and Beckford and getting us back to the PL). it's a false dichotomy to suggest Martin needs to stay to fix the culture

When we play quick football and attack with speed, it feels like something will happen.  As soon as you see 8 touches and constant passing back and forth outside the area, you know it’s one Luke Thomas backpass and it’s over.

They are confident and quick when passing backwards and around the area under a press but when they get to the oppositions area no one wants to cross or even take a shot until the moment has gone and it’s pathetic.

I'd imagine they hadn't the first idea that would be the case. They are completely clueless.

I agree with you that many fans aren't helping the situation. My advice to them was always to stay away until King Power have gone as I have done, but the majority can't do it and are just willingly taking part in the farce that is KPFC.

The club absolutely knew what the fans thought of the appointment. Rob Tanner has said they didn’t appoint him the first time around because of the reaction of the supporters.

We had anti-Martin chants in the stands a year before he got the job.

They hold the support in such contempt that I swear they do shit just to spite us.

Pattern recognition shows that Martins ‘culture’ attracts a toxic reaction from fans and poor results on the pitch despite the resources and opposition.

If a style of football takes so long to click with players that you place teams in trouble and get the sack, most people would look inward.

What we are seeing is a known known, followed by excuses, copes and wishful thinking even though we know he won’t change.

Snake oil salesman and we are another mark.

For the first 15 minutes I agree we played some really nice stuff but after the red card we created absolutely nothing (apart from a Barnsley goal) until stoppage time when it was just headless chicken stuff.

Cullen had a 1v1 10 yards out in the 2nd half plus another couple of good chances.

We are definitely not getting promoted under Martin, just be prepared for administration that’s the way we are heading thanks to the cluelessness of the board in hiring this clown.

If he wasn't given the Rangers job, there is nowhere near the amount of noise around him. It has given the illusion that this is a coup for us.

100% I wouldn’t swap this squad for another team it’s just stubborn tactics from the gaffer that’s costing us. Not sure he’ll get automatic or even be here at Xmas mind.

We have a team of players that are not capable of playing his possesion based football we would be better going for the heavy metal type until that changes we will continue to fall and lag behind.

Problem is, lots of people were saying that last season. I’m just getting to the point where I think it doesn’t matter who we bring in, because we have such a rot at this club.

until the owners are gone and we have a complete course correction it’s all meaningless

Well our squad was well below par and anyone thinking we’d go straight back up last year was pretty clueless, including the chairman. It was always going to be a savage year, albeit I didn’t think we’d go down.

This league in comparison is absolutely shit and there are some terrible footballers in this division.

Does it?

I keep seeing this and I imagine it's primarily from people who couldn't name three players in the squads of the top six clubs.

Wednesday, now they have a squad that should get automatics pretty comfortably.
